Detailed Reviews
We have now stayed here six times over the recent years and always as a one night stop over to our eventual destination.
Gabrielle and Claude are the warmest kindest hosts you could hope to find and have made each stay a real pleasure. Wonderful evening meals, attractive rooms and superb breakfasts.
After finding the place by chance when heading to the southern Alps, we have gone out of our way to stay here again and again and hope to do the same in the future

During our 10day round trip to France we slept at 9 different places. By coincidence we spent two days at this place and I must say it was the most beautiful house with the best welcome we have received. Here I would like to point out, that it was great everywhere, but here, at Chateau Gaillard, we would rate it as the top. The hostess who apparently manages everything on her own, working from dusk to dawn to make her guests happy, does an excellent job in many fields : the house with a beautiful interior, decorated very tastefully with period furniture, is absolutely clean, the garden is large and well kept, providing not only pleasant sitting outside but also all kinds of bio food you can only dream of (in the afternoon we received a generous snack : fresh raspberries with cream ; for breakfast we were offered fresh eggs etc.). The rooms look like those from a real castle, you even sleep under baldaquins in most of them. Last but not least to mention, is the hospitality and goodheartedness of the couple who offers this kind of accommodation. They show genuine interest in their guests´comfort, keep asking you about your needs and are there totally at your disposal. Saying this, I can highly recommend you to make a stop here whenever you are travelling in this area. Amazing quality for the price they ask, should be '4 épis' instead of 3. Dear Gabriela, thank you for all your care ! Hana Cermakova. Here, let me try to translate some of the above said into French : Pendant notre voyage en France de 10 jours nous avons logé dans 9 chambres d´hotes différents. Cordiallement Hana.

This Chambres d'hotes is a wonderful and very solid old house. Inside it is beautifully restored so that it makes a light and comfortable home. It is spotlessly clean and Gabriela and Claude welcome you to their home with great charm. Our bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom large, modern and with plenty of hot water.
They have a lovely natural garden with a large fruit growing area and all the various jams at breakfast are made with fruit from their garden. They also have chickens. Gabriela is a terrific cook and we ate dinner together and despite limited communication it was easy to understand that they both have a great sense of humour. They are very generous and also helpful and knowledgeable. A delightful couple.
They take great pride in their home and it is a joy to share it with them. We hope to return but for longer next time. They are surrounded by beautiful countryside and some lovely old villages and towns. Some of the local wines are just around the corner and there is much exploring to be done.

This is the first time this has happened to us. Above all, don’t book…. You may not be able to sleep. We had booked a room and supposedly the owner was waiting for me to call her around 5 p.m. even though I told her we would arrive around 7/8 p.m. Well, when we arrived at their house they didn't open the door for us. And, she told me to look for a room elsewhere. She didn't even try to contact me even though she had taken my cell phone. So avoid at all costs!

Very sadly, we only visited the Chateau in the hours of darkness. Gabriela was the most charming hostess and provided an exceptionally good meal to at least a dozen people. She showed us to our exquisite bedrooms and was then up to give us a good breakfast long before dawn so that we could get our flight home. We should like to return for longer to make the most of what this beautiful area has to offer!

From the time we arrived to the time we left, We were made to feel at home. We were a family party of 11, all of varying ages and still they took it there stride and catered for all our individual needs, above and beyond all our expectations.
I look forward to returning.

We had a delightful stay in Chateau Gaillard. Gabriela and Claude are gracious and caring hosts. 19th century house is situated in the middle of a pretty garden in a quiet part of the town. It is tastefully decorated, radiating past grandeur and spotlessly clean. Our room (Lucia) was small, but cozy and had a lovely garden view. The bed was quite comfortable with quality bedding. The bathroom (outside the room, but private) was spacey and also very clean. The breakfast was served in a stylish dining room and was plentiful with tasty homemade food. Corbelin is a small place, but within convenient distance to Morestel (“city of painters”) and main roads (516, A43). Highly recommended!

stayed here for 1 night in August together with our kids. Nice ambiance in a very old restaurated B&B. We also had table d'hôte which is prepared by the lady of the house. She tries to use everything from her garden which tastes very nice.
