We weren't sure what to expect, but the lodge and its offerings were top-notch, especially our guide Stephen for various adventures. He had extensive knowledge of Mayan history, local families, plant and animal species, and leading us amateurs through a rain forest. The cottage where were stayed was simple and very comfortable with adjustable air-conditioning. The Lodge even has it's...

We went to southern Belize to see orchids in the wild and boy did we see plenty!!! We had four days to spend there before we boarded a rental catamaran for a week out of Placencia. We spent two wonderful nights at the Lodge! Rob and his staff were very accommodating and served excellent meals and libations! Our thatched casita...

We stayed here transitioning from the reefs to the Moho River. The property is excellent, fora and fauna are abundant, the cabanas are clean, simple, and elegant. Rob and his staff are outstanding! Rob spent the time to answer all of our questions, large and small, with maps, history lessons, and private flower tours. I would stay with at The Lodge...

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay so soon after returning home. I know how busy people can be settling back in to their routine back home. It was a pleasure to meet you all and I enjoyed our conversation very much.

We spent four nights here, having flown down from Belize City to Punta Gorda, from where the lodge is about a half an hour's drive. It is a beautiful setting, with thatched cabanas dotted around - ours was next to the river, which afforded some welcome shade on hot days. The Lodge has tastefully decorated rooms, a simple but attractive...

Many thanks for taking the time to review the lodge. Toledo is certainly a part of the country that should be on travelers' list of places to visit. It stands out in Belize because of the wealth of cultural activities in the Maya, Garifuna, Creole and East Indian communities. We will share your review with all the staff here.

The Lodge at Big Falls was most definitely the highlight of my trip to Belize, a place which is both beautiful and chilled in equal measure. The cabanas here are well designed and very comfortable, dotted about extensive manicured grounds which also feature a lovely cool swimming pool if you don't want to tube down the river. The locally cooked...

We stayed just after Easter and it was quite quiet, just one other couple. I gather it had been busy over Easter though. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, a great service all round. We had one tour already booked with an external agency, but the staff were happy to suggest and arrange an additional activity for us....

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay at the lodge. All the management and staff here really do appreciate guests' feedback on their visits. A number of our past guests have arrived with no particular interest in birds but have their interest awakened by all the species around the lodge. We hope you will both enjoy the...

We had 2 hours before our Mayan cooking lesson, so we stopped here for tubing. The property was simply beautiful. Everything was well maintained. The Tubing was only $11 belize per person. We got in and floated down the river. Birds, lizards, and other creatures could be seen and heard in the jungle around us. about 3/4 of the way...

The owner actually told us that "Americans have ruined Belize" and that "All locals are stupid"! Enough said. I won't be back. Nice cabanas. Tubing on the river. Cocktails at 5:30. But not all safes are functional and there was some eveidence of tampering with our luggage, so don't let your guard down.

I strongly contest these remarks by this guest. The remarks attributed to me are a complete fabrication. The fact that he puts my supposed comments in quotation marks does not mean that I have ever uttered any such comments and nor would I. The lodge takes pride in only employing people from the neighbouring village of Big Falls. While the...

If you want to feel like a traveler and not a tourist, then the Lodge at Big Falls is the place to stay! My husband, our nine year old son, and I stayed 5 nights there in Feb 2016, and could not have imagined a greater experience. Stayed here for a night as part of a tour. The cabanas are lovely and ours overlooked the river, which was a treat. Took part in tubing down the river.
