My 2 friends and I had the unfortunate luck to be moved here for 1 night from Belcampo Lodge (which is amazing - stay there!) due to an unexpected hurricaine. There are apparently two types of rooms at this lodge. The first are very close to the main lodge, have two double/queen (?) beds, a porch, air conditioning and kitchenette....

When travellers are forced by circumstances to change their plans they are often disinclined to be satisfied with the alternatives they are offered. This appears to be the case here since she did not choose us but was sent here by Belcampo that closed due to hurricane Ernesto passing a couple of hundred miles to the north. The reviewer was...

Dear Trip Advisor, We want to add our praise to those who have visited and enjoyed the Lodge at Big Falls. During a visit to Belize, we scheduled a short trip to Big Falls only to find ourselves staying longer than expected and looking for over-night accommodations. The Lodge at Big Falls was recommended and we found ourselves at a...

I have stayed with Rob and Marta twice and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. The lodge has all of the comforts you need and is very tranquil. We really enjoyed visiting families in the village for interactive cultural experiences too.

Location, amenities, ambiance, personal but unobtrusive attention from the Hirons (and their well-trained, friendly, local staff), and the comfortable, private, thatched cabana we called home for four nights put the icing on the cake during our incredible travels throughout Belize. The Rio Grande and Maya Ruins Tour with informative and amiable guide Stephen, and the Maya Home Visit they offer...

The Lodge At Big Falls was extremely comfortable. Rob and Martha were excellent hosts and our guide on all the trips was very helpful and knowledgeable. We were very glad to have a chance to try some local cuisine.

The Lodge at Big Falls was a lovely surprise after a long trip through Guatemala and other parts of Belize, there was a warm welcome as we were all shown to our thatched cabins set in the tropical gardens and overlooking the Rio Grande river (where we later did drift-tyring). The rooms were airy, comfortable and very well-appointed. Whilst there...

We had a terrific experience at The Lodge at Big Falls for 5 days at the end of 2011. Rob and Marta run a wonderfully relaxed inn with great food and a very friendly staff. We signed up for 5 days of excursions that included a kayak trip down the Rio Grande, a visit to a Mayan temple, swimming 500m...

The birding package is outstanding. The bird population is abundant both on the grounds and on the the nearby trips. The trail system on the grounds alone makes for a delightful birders holiday. The staff at the lodge are pleasant and helpful. Rob and Marta are tireless hosts.

What a wonderful little retreat tucked back in the rain forest. With just 12 stand alone cabañas, we felt special from the moment we arrived. Rob and Marta made sure of it, personally greeting us and showing us the lay of the land. Our cabaña was one of three that look out over the Rio Grande river giving us all...

The Lodge at Big Falls is a welcome sight after a hard day of "site seeing" in Southern Belize. The area is rich in Maya ruins, but long, bumpy road rides and climbing tall temples can be tiring, as the ten of us learned in February this year. We relished coming "home" to the relaxed atmosphere of Big Falls and...
