I was only on my way through, but thought to myself that I have to come back and stay in Tebay as it has got lovely and rarely visited hills in its back yard, far from the busy crowds of the Lakes and the owners are very friendly, the breakfast is delicious and they are dog friendly too.

Clean, comfortable and cosy with delicious gluten free food if required. Free wifi. Run by nice, friendly people. 2 minutes from the M6 J38 and perfectly situated for Kendal, Penrith and The Lake District. Highly recommended.

We stayed on our way back home in one of the family rooms. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was large and had plenty of space for all of us. The bathroom by contrast was tiny and it was a struggle to get in and out of the shower. The shower had a timer button which only...

Lovely stay here. Very friendly, clean, and tasty breakfast. Spacious room. Very accommodating of our small baby! Would definitely go back. Great location for Cumbria or stop off on the way to Scotland as we were doing. Even had nutritional shakes for breakfast which my husband enjoyed indulging in!

Interesting place, full of contrasts, but overall I came away disappointed. Lovely building, but village isn't inspiring right beside M6. Room was clean and had had a lick of paint, but shower and heating were woeful. Bed looked quite new, but the quilt was only 2-3cm thick so combined with poor heating meant a chilly disturbed sleep. Owners were pleasant...

I am a regular at this guesthouse which is my location of choice whenever I visit Cumbria. I cannot praise the owners enough for their very high standards of cleanliness and very helpful, friendly attitude. As previous reviewers have pointed out, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are freshly cooked and use locally sourced ingredients -they really set you...

This was a stopover on the way to Scotland.Because I just needed a bed for the night I went for somewhere that was, frankly, cheap, but also looked comfortable.I can imagine that this would be ideal if you were walking, or as a very pleasant group I met were doing, cycling, in this area. I hope the owners will not...

Stayed overnight in comfortable room after a day wandering around Buttermere. Breakfast was freshly cooked on request and you get exactly what you ask for. A proper cup of tea with leaves, not teabags was a welcome change from the norm. Highly recommend this B & B.

Lovely family run b n b. Has the feel of a hostel, without being rude. China used for tea was lovely. Room 6... Tiny room with single bed, but adequate. Powerful shower but very small. I found my self knocking the temperature knob whilst washing. Could do with a shelve in the bathroom as I had to put my mouth...
