This is a top notch stay. Everything is perfect - location, food, host, also 3 wonderful dogs to make sure you have fur babies if you are missing yours at home. and Mo the cat. And a secret - sssh - cannot tell - have to explore yourself. i would stay there again anytime i was in the area. thanks to a great hostess! sorry i ate all your crabapple jelly!
Upon arrival we were welcomed by a brigade of friendly pups. We had a wonderful walk on the picturesque property with our canine companions. Our gracious hostess, Rosemarie, lit a cozy fire in the hearth for us and we spent a relaxing evening enjoying the glow. The room and bed were extremely comfortable, so we slept very well. We were greeted in the morning with a wonderful breakfast (served early at our request due to schedule constraints). Overall it was a great stay!
From the extremely friendly welcoming party consisting of Big Ben, Star, Thor, and Mo, to the excellent breakfast served at your convenience. Amazing property and a wonderful, gracious host. Rosemarie has done an excellent job with this Bed and Breakfast. This was our third stay. When we are in the area we will not stay at any other place. The rooms, bathrooms, family area, and BAR! are very nice and well kept.
One of the highlights was the menagerie....I love animals. Rosemarie is a very gracious caring hostess. The grounds are lovely; my room was super comfy... I had a wonderful sleep. Rosemarie's European breakfast was healthy and scrumptious. Rosemarie you are wunderbar
My wife and I stayed here for a night as part of a visit up to Eigensinn Farm. We only booked it because it was the only decent-looking place with a room available -- and we're glad we did! While the room in which we stayed was cozy (with a great oversize rainfall showerhead in the bathroom), it was Rosemarie, the owner/host who really made our stay special. She only recently renovated her home to a B&B and open it up for guests, but is incredibly sincere, warm, enthusiastic and hospitable. The house has a lot of interesting architectural features -- including a genuine wine cellar that would be great for tastings, wine/cheese pairings, etc... -- and the property is expansive, serene and beautiful. While the weather didn't exactly cooperate, that didn't stop us from going on a Kubota ride around the woods with her three adorable, sweet-natured dogs. (Note: if you love animals, this is the place for you. Rosemarie also has a friendly, relaxed cat.) Breakfast was also delicious, with house-baked bread, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses, jams/spreads and juicy tomatoes. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Highview would be a great place to do it. There's a ton of stuff do to in the surrounding area, be it hiking, farmers markets, horseback riding, snowshoeing/skiing (in the winter)...or you can just relax in a big muskoka chair by the pond.…
We loved our stay with Rosemarie. We felt very welcome although we did not make a reservation. We loved the room, the views, the campfire with the other guests, breakfast, the walk in the morning on one of the trails: it was more than we could have expected. Thank you Rosemarie.
A wonderful and unique b&b. We were greatly by three adorable pups, and a cute roof cat, along with a very nice hostess. All made us feel at home, it was so nice to sit on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful view. Our room was modern and very nicely decorated, well equipped with a ensuite. Breakfast was tasty, with great conversations, and great entertainment by the pups. Thanks Rosemary for the tour of the property, and for sharing the secrets...of the house. I will let future guest discover the secret for themselves. This is truly a great B & B, and we will be returning for another visit
