At the time we were in this city, there was not much to do and the hotel had just a few gasts. But this was not a problem. The owners were very kind and helpful, even with personal staff. The breakfast was really good and well served. The rooms are beautiful e the view is awesome. I really loved this... More

After our skiing trip some years back we decided to take my 60+ parents back with us for a late summer/early autumn visit. The scenery in the area is spectacular! I couldn't believe how green and lush everything is, the area looks like it's taken straight from the Sound of Music. We went for the all-inclusive package as it's so... More

We had a great stay. Our host, Allesandro, was as accommodating as he could be. Room was nice, breakfast fine and the Internet was fast. Canale d'Agordo is a picturesque village in the heart of the Dolomiti. We will be sure to stay here again someday soon.

We have stayed here several times now - drawn back by the location and the wonderful food! Alessandro is a friendly and very efficient manager, and his father Graziano produces consistently lovely food - varied and delicious - with plenty of local flavours. The wine list is inexpensive, the rooms comfortable and clean, and we would not hesitate to recommend... More

We had received a recommendation to stay at Hotel Val Gares but because it was such a reasonable price we were not expecting the unbelievable service, food and atmosphere we found. This family-run hotel was absolutely spoteless, the beds were HUGE and the rooms quiet and peaceful. Alex who runs the hotel had perfect English, which was a relief, he... More

This welcoming, family run hotel is located in one of the most spectacular regions of Italy. The rooms are warm, big and spotlessly clean. Each of the bedrooms has an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. The owners are remarkably friendly and polite but above all extremely helpful (and fluent in English!). The breakfast is large with a great selection... More

We drove up from Florence in the late afternoon, and as we made our way through the Dolomites at night we needed to call for directions repeatedly - Alex was patient and precise. (But it would have helped if we'd printed out directions ahead of time ... this is a complicated region.) The next day he gave us some tips... More

Spent several days at the hotel , found the room first rate , and the food and wine was great ... The village where the hotel is situated is perfectly centered for all those that like skiing and hiking. If you want a home away from home while enjoying jaunts in the mountains this is the place!
