With a group of more than 30 young adults (18-23) we stayed at Finca la Flor for about 11 days and we all loved it a lot! As a person who eats a lot of meat I was a little scared before I went there because of the vegetarian food, but I really loved it a lot and didn't miss meat that much haha. The finca has very much space and the cabins are really neat, only at night you might want to ask for a extra blanket which was happily provided, after I was pretty cold after the first night. The people who live and work at the finca are like a big loving family and it was always great talking to them as well. There is a soccer field and a small supermarket in walking distance almost right next to the finca, in the late afternoons there are also mostly some local youths and young adults at the soccer field who we enjoyed playing with. The surroundings and landscapes around the finca are beautiful and I found something beautiful and new everyday. During our stay we also had the opportunity to participate in Yogasessions, Dancing and contact-improvisation workshops with the amazing people on the farm. After all, we were sad that we had to leave so soon again, as we really enjoyed our stay.…
I Spent a week as a volunteer in finca La Flor last month and had a very loving and productive stay. The place offers many options to enjoy nature and natural living , learn from sustainability at la Finca and relax...in a beautiful spot of the country. The people living in la finca are all very careing and welcomming , I felt at home from the first day and absolutley loved their traditional kitchen and natural cooking... Thank you all guys !! Xxxx
Staying on the farm was the highlight of my (and my adult daughter's) visit to Costa Rica. The warmth of the people, the forest, the gardens, the animals, the view, and an adorable little toddler added to the plentiful vegetarian food and the work (if you opt for it) on the farm. It is not for everyone - if you need luxury and the comforts of conventional resorts, look elsewhere. What the Finca offers is connection, renewal of the soul, an opportunity for service and learning.
And I'm not exaggerating. Incredible place. Incredible views. Beautiful, English-speaking and warm people. Delicious food, comfortable beds and housing. It's situated in rural area but not so far from the capital of Costa Rica. Surrounded with misty mountains, with staggering view of Irazú and Turrialba volcanoes. Their many gardens are full of plants from pineapples through guayaba trees (fruits of which are great for marmalade!) to potatoes, including many plants and herbs I've never heard of before, also with big gardens dedicated to medicinal herbs. The region is rich in perfect soil due to volcano ash. There are also animals including goats, ducks and gallop horses. Huge area that've been reforested, with routes prepared for walks, leading to the river with many waterfalls. But the most important aspect are the great people managing the place. During such stays you're filled with appreciation for beauty of life! I honestly recommend this place to anyone. I will be coming back there in no time.…
