Basic but very clean accommodation in pleasantly renovated older recreational building with spacious rooms offering amazing views over the lake. Many of the rooms have kitchenette with induction hob, kettle, little fridge and (even though very limited) cooking utensils. The description of the rooms on Booking.com is very accurate even with floor information. Pension Calla is on the edge of the little lakeside village so it's perfect for relax or various water activities, however for hikes or other ways of spending of leisure time you have to move by car or bike (or boat). This is due to the concrete panel based construction technology of this building but the noises from footsteps, door shutting/opening, talking and everything else is sooo loud. No matter if the sound comes from the hallway or other rooms. I do not like carpets in rooms, but they make sense in hotels hallways since they work as a noise reduction. It might help at least a little here as well. The bed is too soft and uneven. Minibar style fridge is not suitable for food since to keep it really cold it has to be on higher setting and it is very loud then. But those are just little cons, because overall this place is really nice and the young owners are super caring and friendly. I mean, such devotion to what they do and the interest in making their guest's stay as enjoyable as possible is rarely seen in accommodation business here in Czech Republic. And its fairly priced. Thumbs up.

We originally booked into a hotel in Prague for a week. However, we decided that we would like to see more of the Czech countryside before our trip to Salzburg. We found this pension and are glad that we did. The room was a very good size, immaculatly clean, and the beds were SO comfortable. The breakfast was superb and the hosts, Peter and Petra, were incredibly friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend staying here. Off season seems to be very quiet, but perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful nature.

As I said in the title of my review, the location of pension Calla is really beautiful - in front of the lake, quiet surrounding, just perfect. The family which runs this pension is extremely helpful and kind. On the other hand the interior of the pension need a reconstruction - our room looked like from the eighties, it was clean, but very old and outdated. To conclude my review, I think that pension Calla has a potential to be the perfect vacation spot, but the reconstruction process has to be finished in order to achieve this goal.

Dear guests, thank you very much for your nice rating. We know the rooms need a new coat, but we bought the pension 3 years ago and we had to do all the most neccessary things - building insulation, new heating system, new windows, landscaping ... the reconstruction of the internal equipment of the rooms we are going to do next year ... We hope to welcome you next time in our new rooms. Some guests don´t want to change the look of the 80-ies, it doeas mean for them memories and even retro-style... Best wishes, Ema Kondyskova

Positive impressions: - great location - right on the beach, nice view - very, very peaceful area - no traffic (end of road - literally :-) - kind and friendly owners Room for improvement: - dirty dishes upon arrival, in particular forks - new windows installed - otherwise really dated apartment, very basic furniture (collected from various ages/places) - which I would not care if the beds were ok .. - beds/mattresses: major issue - old overused and way too hard - additional kids’ beds made of sofa, but too short (detachable pieces slipping away from the mattress) Overall: I would surely return once the mattresses are replaced.

Fantastic family run traditional Czech pension in a beautiful location (the pension is literally right on the lake). We were in one of the rooms on the first floor and the apartment had an absolutely stunning views of the lake and the national park beyond. The room was simple but comfortable and very spacious. Each room also has a private balcony overlooking the lake and a kitchenette. The owners are lovely and accommodating and provide free wifi. As the pension is in the middle of a national park there's not too much within walking distance, but there are plenty of beautiful places to walk around the lake. We even went mushroom picking! It is also only a short drive to Český Krumlov and local Lipno activity park (which is a ski slope in winter) and we rode the ski lift to an amazing lookout above the trees. Unfortunately, we stayed in mid September which meant it was too warm for skiing and too cold for swimming in the lake. Can't wait to come back at another time of year!
