We have stayed at Rye Hill Farm which isn't far from Slaley and is an excellent B&B with a campsite. From memory it's about £35 per person per night. Rooms are spotless and breakfast is good. We have also stayed at the Manor House Inn, which is a little further away, on the A68, and again is very good. The Crown Inn at Slaley is a community owned pub with accommodation. Have eaten there, but not stayed. Details of all three are on Trip Advisor.

I cannot recall any steps either entering or inside the pub. If going for a meal I would recommend. If staying there then play it safe and call ahead as as far as I can remember the stairs to the bedrooms are narrow but the staff were helpful and friendly so I feel sure that they would help you up and down.
