I stayed here for two nights for a conference. I was fortunate enough to be in one of the renovated rooms and it was excellent value for money including breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, shower was good, great quality toiletries. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast food options were good. I didn't have room service but the...

I was recently invited to attend an event at the Hotel Rex. I usually category this hotel as an option out of my price range. However I was pleased and surprised at the cost offered. I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The Hotel does live up to its reputation. I found it very well appointed, quality fixtures, comfortable bed....

The room we stayed in was adequate but needs an upgrade ASAP (which is happening soonish). The best thing about the room was King Size bed which was very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water but the shower head was about 150cm up from the bottom of the bath so being 183cm I had to stoop all the time...

During our stay we occupied both a two bedroom serviced apartment & also a one bedroom executive room (complete with private sauna). Both apartment & room were newly completed, immaculate & well thought out. Both were extremely roomy & beds were a delight. Buffet breakfast was great & dinner was very nice food wise although wait staff (although friendly) could...

On recommendation I ordered the pork belly with pan seared scallops and chips as a side and was served burnt (really obviously) chips, burnt pork belly that was overcooked to the hilt and 'pan seared scallops' that have never even seen a pan. The staff were good in trying to rectify the situation but, the chef had already left before...

The Rex is getting a revamp but it's old self is still peaking out and needs to be tucked back in. For some reason on a -2oC I had no hot water for a shower. There was a building fault so I wasn't alone. Supposedly fixed they moved my room and were very apologetic. Great customer service. Well appointed rooms...

My previous review of the Rex was quite negative, but I can confirm that since the renovations have progressed, the likelyhood of getting a new room has increased. As a result, The Rex has become a viable alternative to more expensive hotels, and is will located near the Braddon restaurant area. Definitely worth considering.

The new apartments next door to the Rex are on the face of it very swanky with state of the art kitchens, beautiful bedding and above all else spacious. However when you book a 2 bedroom apartment for your family after 8 hours on the road and it is over $200 a night you expect basic comfort and this was...

It had been a year since my last visit to the Canberra Rex Hotel and as always it feels like coming home! Check in was effortless, friendly & efficient, my allocated room - 239 was absolutely stunning! From the plush carpet - soft underfoot, the amazing King Sized Bed, two LCD TV units - one in the lounge area and...
