For a budget hotel, the place was quite pleasant. Staff were very friendly with a "can do" attitude. I am an accor member and was surprised by a gift left for me by management. Was not expecting that from a budget hotel.
I knew what I was paying for, So I was very happy with the accomodation. Very basic but very clean. I stayed here on my may through to the Gold Coast with my two children. Room was very clean except for some gum someone had stuck on the frame of the bunk bed. We were given the wrong room configuration which was a bit annoying but because it was late I didn’t want to bother anyone. We had breakfast included which was continental and perfectly fine, with cereals, toast, fruits, juice tea and coffee. A selection of basic hot foods eg toasted sandwiches, pancakes could be ordered at a very reasonable price. Lady working was lovely. Don’t book this is you want 4-5 star accommodation its an ibis budget. It’s exactly what it’s advertised as. Have re booked to stay here on the way home and will stay every time on our way through.…
The room and beds looked clean, and the TV worked. But that's about all I can say in terms of the good things. The noise from the beer garden at the pub/hotel on a Saturday night made sleeping impossible until after they closed it which seemed to be maybe midnight. The noise from the ancient Air conditioner made sleeping with it on impossible. The temperature in the room from not being able to run the A/C made sleeping difficult and uncomfortable. The fridge was not turned on when we arrived. The doorframe to the bathroom was rusting out at the bottom. Showering with the shower curtain closed had it sticking to your body almost constantly. An entrance from the rear car park would have made packing/unpacking much easier. It's highly unlikely I'll be staying here in the future, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.…
Pros: on-site parking, location walking distance to town centre, Fridge, AC and TV in each room. Beds are comfortable and there is a small swimming pool at the entrance. Shared facilities like microwave, dining tables, laundry, vending machines at the lobby. Cons: No lifts, which is not idea for people with mobility issues. Only one washing machine and dryer to be shared in the lobby. Would recommend overall. Price is reasonable during peak season.
Room is very basic (no wardrobe, drawers or bedside tables) but air con and TV were fine. And the window opened- yay! Bathroom is a wet room (shower curtain only) but guest laundry and guest microwave are great. Staff were helpful (especially Corinne) and nothing was too much trouble (spare plate, cutlery, use of the dining space after 9.30am). Coast Hotel restaurant next door is a bonus.
