A good pub for good priced food. Loved the calamari. Great service. Very friendly and special request like no onion and extra lemon was no trouble. Just across from The boulevard so handy to pop over for a meal.

This hotel restaurant/pub is directly across from our hotel. When we got here it was raining, so we decided to pop in to use the ATM. Ended up staying for a delicious dinner: chicken schnitzel and a wagu beef burger, to include a couple pints of beer, accompanied by choices of rugby, cricket, and soccer on the telly.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Dec/Jan, pub/restaurant was great with fantastic value meals & drink offers during happy hour Stayed in a 3 bed dorm which consisted of a bunk bed & single bed plus a locker for each person (bring your own lock), bedding was clean & beds were comfortable. Wifi could not be reached in bedrooms,...

This was the first stop on our month trip in Australia and I'm so glad it was. We had a private room with En-suite and it was delightful. It was clean and fresh and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff where very welcoming and helpful and where always interested in what our plans where while staying there. The pub...

In general we loved this hostel! The staff were lovely, downstairs bar was awesome and it serves amazing discounted food for hostel guests. The rooftop area was also really good (except when it rains as there's barely any shelter) but there aren't enough fridges in the kitchen. It's also in a great location; really close to one of the museums...

We called in hot and bothered after a long walk around Sydney. The place was what we British would describe as "spit and sawdust" but it had a decent atmosphere and the staff were helpful enough. Pretty generic beers on offer but they came quickly which was what was required. Not a pub to seek out but if you are...

Can't fault the service or food. Really reasonably priced food and drinks. Good honest well cooked and presented food with vegetables not just salad and chips. We had fish and steak as well as a spicy prawn linguine dish which had some heat.

The strand is my local pub so I am a little bias, but the service is impeccable without being over-bearing and the weekly trivia night is a hoot. No attitude, just good old booze-inspired family fun!!

Best part of the hotel is the food and drink downstairs. Really nice! But the actual hotel was bad, literally 2 toilets for 30+ people on a floor. 1 oven with a hob for the whole hotel no chance of ever making food as the kitchen is always so busy. Hotel is full of long term residents set in there...

The service is horrible! The people behind the bar are not Nice. Almost every person stays there permanent, so the room was a mess like a teenage room! Disgusting! Most of the guests are Britsh, Scotish or Irish and they stick together and are not social at all! So if you want a horrible stay in Sydney, stay here! Waste...

Hi Jeanine, We're very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. It is unfortunate that our service was not up to your standard. We do have a lot of long-term residents as we are a very popular place for backpackers in Sydney, as such we are currently working on general tidiness in regards to this. When you...

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
