I don't understand why this hostel received so many good recommendations! Maybe it means that the average Australian hostel is even worse. Maybe I've been spoilt by all the wonderful hostels in New Zealand, but this hostel was quite appaling! The double room I had was dirty, didn't even have a hook to hang your clothes, the linen was dirty...

The staff at the Jackaroo Hostel were full of helpful ideas to fill our time in Sydney and were willing to answer all of our pesky touristy questions. The kitchen and common areas were all very clean and organized. The bathrooms may have needed a bit of a once over but were also pretty clean. Free WIFI that actually works...

Not the biggest hostel, or one with the most facilities but very good and friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers and surprisingly well sound protected rooms (although because of the location on top of a train station, not all sounds are blocked... Like the saxophone busker that played two nights we were there) They provide basic breakfast for free, but...

We stayed at this place for 8 nights . It has great location only a 5 minutes from bondi junction and a 20 minute walk from the city centre. The rooms are not the biggest but they do the job. The kitchen is kept lovely and clean for everyone and the breakfast was great. It's literally next to the station...

For the past three years I have stayed at quite a few hostels around the World and I can definitely say that this is one of the best of all of them. It's ideal for young backpackers who want to spend as little time as possible in the hotel, and as much time outside exploring the city or partying, but...

I have stayed in both the Kings Cross and Mission Beach hostels. I stayed at Jackaroo in Kings Cross over the Christmas and New year period and couldn't have wished for a better hostel. It was very social with nights out and BBQ's organised by the staff which was a great way to meet new people. Staff were always at...
