Is it too much to expect a five star hotel to have sufficient sound proofing that we don't have to listen to the lifts twenty four hours a day? To add to this irritation, we can't open the bottle of water that we are charged for as soon as we take it from the fridge without calling housekeeping for a...

I was thrilled to find that a nice CBD hotel offered a day use room. The day use time is 9a-5p but I was able to check in when I arrived at 7am, which was fantastic. I didn't sleep here overnight, but the room was quiet (37th floor) and the bed was very comfortable for a nap. The room (standard,...

Most travelers take a lot in their stride and forgive places for minor issues - but then one comes along where all is not forgiven. Sadly, the Sydney Hilton is one of the latter for me. It is expensive, even by Sydney standards. The rooms are small, even by standards most places. But for top dollar, you get no sports...

Efficient checkin and complimentary executive lounge membership enhanced our stay. Smiling staff, ever present to help and advise. Comfortable room, centre of Sydney. The Hilton Chain is serious in its offer. And seems to go out of its way in consistency.

This hotel is just opposite QVB - A Sydney landmark. And its a short stroll to Town Hall train station and lots of busses at your doorstep. I think the breakie was really healthy and tasty! Rooms a little on the small side but well appointed. Full amenities including toothbrush and paste. Views obstructed by the neighbouring tall skyscrapers -...

Great Location in Central Sydney, walk everywhere. Nice rooms, modern decor and very good breakfast. Avoid rooms near the lift shaft as gets noisy. This is a busy hotel so if you are wanting peace and quiet in your hotel lobby this is not for you.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
