Marriott went through quite some renovations recently. Room are modern and they just did the lobby as well. I like the hotel as it is very well located in Sydney. Maybe the breakfast could be improved as well as the gym even if it is quite big actually and with a pool. I think it is really a good value...

I like Marriotts and love the perks of being a Gold member. Overall this place was good. Pros-central location, good concierges and front desk personnel, had a nice partial view of the harbour, good hours at the executive lounge, small room but plenty of drawers and hangers. Cons-they need bigger coffee makers in the lounge because they were constantly refilling...

I stayed here for a week while on business in Sydney. It is just steps away from the harbor and all of the tourist attractions that the harbor has to offer. It is also close to a neighborhood called the rocks where there are tons of restaurants and shops. I was also only a few blocks from the Sydney central...

The recent renovations seemed to be finished when we arrived. Check in as polite and quick as on previous stays. Smaller room than previous but the same fantastically comfortable bed and lovely soft doona and I finally got a room with a glimpse of the harbour. So convenient to be able to stroll to the Harbour in under 5 minutes....

I have been fortunate enough to visit Sydney more than a dozen times and I have stayed at the Marriott more than half of those visits. The location of this hotel is ideal, within easy walking distance to the Opera House, The Rocks, The Royal Botanical Gardens and the Harbour Bridge. Their newly renovated lobby is gorgeous and their new...

My colleague and I stayed 4 nights at the hotel. They are undergoing renovation of their lounge/dining area. Their front desk is what needs help! We waited a very long time to check in (10 minutes at least) and over the course of 4 days we always observed people waiting in line. I hope they are going to scale up...

We stayed at this hotel 11 years ago (for New Years Eve- fantastic!) This time we stayed before and after a wonderful cruise out of Sydney. It is in a great location, within walking distance of the harbor, opera house and The Rocks. This time the hotel was undergoing renovations, which we knew about in advance. It did not impact...

Stayed for one night using my points. The hotel was in its final day of renovations and although it didn't interfere in the slightest with our sleep it did have an impact on our overall stay. Walking through reception to the lifts was walking through a building site, noisy, dusty, messy. Actually, the screening around the works was poor. Scraggy,...

The hotel is very well located. Walking distance from Circular Quay and Sydney Harbour. It's on Pitt Street, with good options of cafés around and a mall on the corner. We stayed 3 nights and it was a great stay. The hotel was in renovations, but that didn't interfere at all. The room was a good size, clean and comfy....

We had a decent stay in this hotel but somewhat surprised at the extensive construction going on and extent it disrupted what likely will be better services going forward. Construction going on 15 feet of where we were having dinner in the temporary dining space allocated. Elevators were sometimes unavailable, actually had to exit an elevator under huge stepladder over...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
