I have had more warmth, personality, customer service going to a doctor’s surgery reception that I received at all the time from the front reception while I stayed here. First of all, the entry is dull (this is a very polite statement) the only thing it needed was one of Sydney’s unprivileged, snoring in one of the corners, just to...

Thank you for taking the time to prepare your thorough review A H, and sorry to hear your stay did not meet expectations. A number of the points you raised are certainly within our control and are being progressively addressed as I type. For consideration; Capitol Square Hotel is one of the more affordable accommodation options amongst an often busy...

This is a basic hotel but in a good location if you are in town for theatre and shopping. The rooms are adequate but could do with a face-lift but I'm just after a bed and a shower so they satisfy. The lobby is small and there always seems to be a large tour group either coming or going when...

Stayed at the Capitol Square Hotel for one night when going to see Aladdin at Capitol Theatre. On check in the receptionist came across very disinterested but we only had to deal with her for a short time so that was fine. We were given our key and got in the horribly old and run down elevator to go to...

Good if you want to eat out, no lunch or dinner available. The restaurant is breakfast only. Ask for rooms on level 2, bigger and better bathrooms. Bit dated but great location for Paddy's market, .Capitol Theatre and the new light rail ( like a tram) is at the western end of the street of which the hotel is within...

This hotel is not worth giving a rating. The place is DIRTY - the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation and is disappointing to say the least. Have to wear thongs in the shower as it is so unclean. Mould in the ceilings, marked and dirty walls to name only a few areas. Shame on your house keeping...

We chose this for the location (near Central Railway Station) and price. The room was basic but very clean, a bit lower priced than others nearby. You get what you pay for, we weren't in it for much other than sleeping so it suited us. Worst was the shower in the bathtub, difficult for older legs to get in and...

The last time I stayed here was 2013. I was happy with the overall condition and given its convenient location, I did not hesitate to come back as a return guest. A lot of the main travel sites list this hotel as a 3-Star hotel but I would put it more at a 2.5 or so. I booked 2 nights via Hotwire for 3 people for $300 -- it was the price point I was looking for since Sydney gets pretty pricey. We landed in Sydney early and made it to...

Convenient to the Capitol Theatre, and the Haymarket, but that's about it. The room was basic, clean, with a view over the roof next door. Tiny cramped bathroom.
