It was the best of time and the worst of times that’s how my recent trip to Australia felt. The worst of times was the Four Points Sheraton Darling Harbor. Arrived from an overnight flight at 11.30am, no doorman to help with bags, a plastic young man at the SPG Platinum desk informed me no room available until 3pm. I...

Very good hotel in a great location. I got it with starwood points, and it was a good deal considering that this area of Sydney (and ridiculous exchange rate) is very expensive. Room was rather standard for the US standards. Very good service as I have a crossover benefits with Delta, but here my benefits were not clear. However they...

Best 90 min Breakfast Marathon we ever did :) (We usually eat light but after an 16 hour flight from South America this hotel and the Breakfast along with Sydney was the perfect recovery ;) Will stay here again ;) Centrally located and great service. We only had one night here but got a great room with a balcony overlooking Darling Harbour. The bed was comfy with great bedding and the room was light and airy. We could walk to shopping like QVB or Darling Harbour and could reach any number of great restaurants in minutes. Breakfast was buffet style and was quite busy but...

So this is a Four points branded hotel - so don't expect the earth. It feels rushed and is not well enough resourced to meet demand, and really lacks attention to detail in terms of the restaurant. Here's the highs: 1. Location; 2. Great Welcome and friendly staff; 3. Nice fish and chips - crispy and delicious; Now the lows:...

Average 4star hotel with a wonderful view and good services. Very poor approach from the Group Specialist: I asked to cancel one night due to an anticipated departure from Sydney and, despite having brought in the hotel a group of 20 persons for 4 nights, she rejected my request. Next time I will choose another hotel. Amelio

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
