This hotel we would highly recommend not only because of it's close proximity to the heart of Sydney but the great views that we had from our room. The unit was very clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and courteous. We were greeted on our arrival by Neale Khan who went out of his way to make sure...

We received an "upgrade" from our booking to the Double Story Terrace. Access with luggage was extremely difficult and the terrace was extremely musty and stale with no ventilation. Noise from the street in the evening and people talking outside the window made sleep difficult. Stairs very steep and not recommended for elderly, those with limited mobility or children.

Great hotel and location. Although here for business would definitely stay here for pleasure. When I arrived I had been upgraded to one of the terrace rooms which was very nice. The front desk were very polite and helpful.

In the heart of the beautiful Rocks area on the fringe of the city without the intrusion of the traffic and people bustling around. Fantastic cafes and eateries and artisan shops and markets to while away time.

Proximity to Opera House and all transport was important to us, so this hotel was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff, combined with very comfortable bed and amenities. Would have liked an arm chair in the room. Thanks for a great few days in Sydney.

Great location in the heart of the rocks. Modern comfortable rooms with a kitchenette, desk & sofa. Ours lacked a view but we weren't overly disappointed by that. Friendly, helpful staff. I would happily recommend the Rendezvous to anyone planning a stay in Sydney

We stayed here for 3 nights while in Sydney and loved it. We had booked a historic queen terrace which, knowing how hotels name their rooms, we thought would be a queen room in an old terrace, but it was an old terrace house, with small living and kitchen area downstairs and bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bedroom and bathroom...

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
