If you are looking for a very expensive youth hostel then you've found it. Staff was friendly but that's where it ends. I found the room to be grotty and claustrophobic and the communal kitchen/dining area right outside made it feel more like a hostel than a hotel.

It was reasonable for one night, but it is looking very tired and stained in its appearance. It is in need of a good carpet clean. I found it very difficult to liaise with several reception staff by phone as English as their second language made communication very difficult on multiple occasions. I don't expect to return to this venue.

A good place to base yourself, particularly if you aren't planning on being at the hotel much. The room was cramped and small and smelled a bit musty, but at least it was clean and had a nice hot shower.

The location was central, however the rooms were extremely rundown and very disappointing to stay. The beds were comfy and towels and sheets were clean. The outside noise was a bit disruptive. Staff were polite.

Dear CGJD75, Thank you for your review of BreakFree on Clarence. It is unfortunate to hear that our hotel did not meet your expectations. We do have rooms available at the rear of the building, should noise be a concerning factor with guests. This, along with a high floor, can be requested upon booking or check in. Later this year,...

Very obliging, the staff looked after our suit cases so we could have breakfast down the street before we left. We stayed over night before our cruise the next day, we got in late which was no problem

Black mould in shower, carpets destroyed, head boards falling apart! I would not recommend this hotel, not very well kept, good location but the price for a damp mouldy room is over rated, just paying for location which is a pitty as a lot could be done here

Practical and comfortable accommodation in a great spot! Walking distance to most things around the city. The rooms had everything necessary and staff were fantastic! The amenities are clean and bed gave us a great night's sleep!

Room Configuration - Could be better. Great location however the TV is not in line with the bed - it is completely to one side which means you get a sore neck when laying in bed and watching TV. The customer service is excellent though. But they need to re-configure the room.

For the price, this hotel is a big disappointment. Asked about an iron and ironing board and told all were out (probably permanently). Common room (where the communal iron is) I would suggest gets cleaned once a week at best. Walls need cleaning, carpet needs replacing, room safe stuffed. Why do the staff work here? Do yourself a favour and...

I found this hotel to be very clean, beds very comfy but the view out of my window was of a life shaft and the room was very small. If you only want to sleep and shower there then it is fine but if you want to relax and enjoy the view not for you.
