A fantastic stay at the maze backpacker hostel. I cannot praise them enough. Firstly, Holly and Nick who are behind reception gave me a cheap rate over Christmas which financially helped me a great deal. Holly even lent me a charger when my charger broke which was lucky. Their fellow colleagues behind reception were always in a great mood which...

IN GENERAL Reception staff were nice and solved the problem with our private room quickly and with no hassle. The location is also very good, close to Coles and the CBD. There were also free meals available twice a week with pancakes on Sundays. The place also felt secure, with a security guard and key cards in place to deter...

I walked in genuinely excited, great reception, rapid AC and a warm welcome. Now for the record, I have "roughed it" many a time over the years. As it was the new year period the hostel insisted on a 10 night minimum stay, I can understand that, it's a business after all but equally frustrating. The kitchen areas are brilliant...

I stayed at this hostel for a total of 4 nights. Its a central location and not expensive but its let down by its cleanliness (including smell) and the staff who don't appear to be empowered to make any decisions for the benefit of the customer. For example; When I first called to book my room I was told that...

Clean rooms and bathrooms, good location in city. Good and clean kitchen and fridge facilities. Lots of organised social events- didn't attend any as we had our own plans. Had a 3 person room which was pretty small glad it was with close friends. Only problem... there is no air conditioning which made it uncomfortable to spend much time in...

This hostel is very big yet the bathrooms were always extremely clean and there was plenty of room in the kitchen. It's great that there's three fridge rooms because there's always space for your food, and a separate sink/cutlery room too. This hostel has the best kitchen of all the places I've stayed in Australia. There's also always something going...

We stayed at Maze for five days while visiting Sydney. Decent price, great central location and only a short walk to main shopping area and central station. Great staff very helpful. Airport shuttle available. Big kitchen and dining and common area. Twin room was spacious and clean.

I've been at Maze for almost 4 months, and in that time have got to know the majority of the staff and the hostel areas very well. The manager Nick constantly goes above and beyond to help any arrivals and current guests. He holds a great knowledge of the area and seems to always know the best areas to visit...

This hostel exceeds expectations in every way. Clean, secure and in an amazing location.  Front desk staff are super nice and funny. Thanks to N1ck, Henry and the whole team my stay has been amazing. Hostel has massive kitchen with lots of fridge storage. Bathroom and toilets are clean. Best part is the organised social activities, free food Tuesdays and Thursdays,...

Alot of the reviews on this site are pretty ridiculous, maze is a fantastic hostel for the price. My friend and I have been here for 3 weeks now and love the people and staff here (particularly n1ck, who is hilarious and very accommodating to all of the guests). Tons of great activities to do and there are also free...
