When it comes to location, the hotel is located near the "red district" where there are many clubs nearby but it is still safe to roam around at night. It is also a minute away from the Kings Cross Station, restaurants and Coles, a grocery store which offers different discounts like 50% off on selected items or 2 for 5dollars...

We stayed in the King's Cross Ibis Budget Sydney East for two nights. It was a great location, far enough away from the red-light activity, but close enough to still experience the vibe of the area. We stayed in a double room - it is better than staying at a backpackers, but still a budget option. The room was really...

We stayed here for 2 nights last month, the room was very very very basic, but I suppose the word "Budget" in its name says it all really :) All that was in our room was a double bed, bunk, shower, toilet and a TV (alarmed so noone can steal it! eekk!) - bed was ok for a couple of...

Stayed here 2 nights on recent trip to Sydney. Hotel is relatively clean, which is important. Only essentials are provided: bed, shower, toilet, soap, towel. Good that there is an airport shuttle that runs every half hour you can take to the airport at 14AUD Tips for improvement: Provide free wifi, provide shampoo. Will stay again if on a budget....

Thank you to the manager and his staff for a very pleasant stay. We travelled from Tasmania and would certainly recommend as good value and well positioned. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. Thanks to Management and staff for the cake and card when they found out it was my birthday. For a budget...

Having seen the reviews for this hotel I was quite concerned about staying here. We booked in May when the reviews were pretty good, but they got a lot worse just before our trip. So I wasnt expecting much, the room was basic but clean which to me is one of the most important things. The bedding and the room...

The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful, but the rooms are another matter!! The bathroom is one room with no separation for the shower. There is a shower curtain you pull around an area for the shower. When you sit on the toilet the shower curtain touches you, which I might add had a disgusting bloody booger on it....

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
