The Mercure was a great place. The pool was good but it could use a little bit more staff at the bar and a bit more shade. The buffet there was great. Our room was good. The hotel could have used some more work to it. A good stay. I enjoyed it.

There is an inviting pool, and I believe the hotel offers a spa experience off property, but nearby. Best to check with staff on hotel web site. Enjoy your trek and stay at Alice Springs.

First of all when we were there in August the river was dry and is most of the year. The only view you would get is an empty river bed with sadly to say the local indigenous people lying around in groups drinking and smoking - very sad to see this. Secondly, the hotel does offer an airport pickup that is more expensive than the local taxi's. I was imformed that the local taxi option was at least 20$ cheaper 5 of us got a large taxi and it was @ 30$ arranged by the hotel.
