Stayed at Sails in the desert & it was a great place to sleep, the reception team were excellent as when we checked in, I was staying with my parents, there was only 2 places left when we booked the sounds of silence & the receptionist didn't want one of us missing out & luckily the receptionist allocated a 3rd...

We stayed here over the Labour day weekend in October. It was great! You can't expect much more from a hotel in Ayers Rock. Rooms were a decent size and clean. There is a free transfer to and from the airport, shuttle buses every 15 minutes so that you can go between the hotels, 5 mins walk to the Centre....

We stayed here for 5 nights with primary school age kids and we loved it. We had a ground floor room which opened out onto the gardens and pool area - perfect for the kids to play and swim every day after hot mornings' activities at Kata Tjuta and Uluru. The whole resort is managed by one group which has...

Hi CarolineMiller, Thank you for your lovely review of Sails in the Desert. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the facilities on offer. We do indeed have a strong commitment and focus to train Indigenous hospitality students from all over Australia and Ayers Rock Resort is home to the National Indigenous Training Academy. I am really...

Would appear that the entire Ayers Rock resort is owned by one company so they definitely have the monopoly. Good base for visiting main attraction of Uluru, hotel rooms are ok but could do with a refurbishment as very dated. Variety of excursions available and shuttle bus to other hotels on the resort. I would definitely not class this as...

It's a remote place so you can't expect too much but apart from the individual rooms being upgraded this resort is in serious need of a refresh. The overall design and layout needs a complete refurb, particularly the external thoroughfares, pool and gardens. Rooms facing the main courtyard lack privacy with constant pedestrian traffic passing your front door. The pool...

Our room was absolutely great - it was large with a huge and bed and a large bathroom. Based on the room alone I would give the hotel a 5 rating, but this is a luxury resort where service should be impeccable which was not our experience. Returning from sightseeing in the afternoon we found a technician replacing the batteries...

Given that this resort is a million miles from anywhere and it's over 30 years old, it still stacks up. yes it has seen better days, but the food, service and staff are still very competent. How they get the staff up there is beyond my understanding, it must a nightmare for management. Buffet breakfast is not to be missed,...

We have been here for 4 days. Our room is on third floor with a view of Uluru. Room is comfortable. We had a welcome sparkling wine on arrival for my partners birthday which was lovely as he is a Accor member. This wine bottle we drank on first night and the dirty glasses and bottle has sat in our...

Hi Karla M, Thank you for taking the time to post your review regarding your experience. I was most concerned to read of your experience in our dining outlets. We have been experiencing extremely high occupancy with all restaurants within the resort full of an evening however that is not an excuse for the wait times and mistakes that occurred...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sails in the Desert which had an excellent breakfast buffet, clean rooms and a fantastic spa. We also enjoyed eating at the Kulata Academy Cafe which is a training centre for indigenous Australians. Although the hotel was a bit frayed and tired around the edges (more of a motel than a 5 star hotel),...
