Reception: Friendly efficient and helpful, and can get busy when bus tours arrive for checkin / out Room / facilities: Room number 918 is on the 9th floor and is clean, with bar fridge, Juliet balcony with distant water views, Computer desk, flat screen TV safe slippers comfy king-size bed with four pillows separate individual chair and bedside lamps. The room has Self control air conditioning, but only heat or cool, no fan only function. Laundry: Self service coin laundry Is located on level l, however this was not utilized during this visit . Parking: Parking is complementary and plenty of it, located on the hotel property grounds however the parking is not secure parking, but still quiet safe. Wifi: Wi-Fi there are two options a visitor Wi-Fi and a premium paid for Wi-Fi asked reception for the Wi-Fi code for the visitor Wi-Fi. Breakfast: Available on the ground floor restaurant but this was not utilized during our visit. Conclusion: A great location and comfortable hotel with plenty of views. Letdowns: Clean is not to “COVID” standards thats promoted. Location / Nearby: Downtown Darwin is approximately 1.5 km away, which is an easy walk, across the road is the Esplanade and huge park lines with water views.

We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin for the last 2 nights on our tour of the Northern Territory. It is situated in a convient part of Darwin on the Esplanade close to shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and attractions. On entering our room we fond that it was and interconnecting room which we dislike as they are always noisy. I went down to reception and informed the young man who checked us in, he changed our room without hesitation and was happy to do so, our new room was perfect. Good size room with all that you would require for your stay. We didn't eat at the hotel but did have couple of drinks later in the evening on the 2 nights. Staff again were friendly and professional. Overall we had a nice stay, the staff are absolutely a great asset to this hotel.

Had a nice little stay at the Hilton Doubletree. Greeted by the friendly staff with the familiar warm chocolate cookie which was much appreciated after our drive from Jabiru. Our room was spacious and overlooked the pool at the Hilton Double tree Esplanade next door. There are two Doubletrees in Darwin adjacent to each other and you are able to use the facilities of both and chargeback to your room. The pool at the Esplanade Double tree is much bigger and warmer with more comfortable lounges so we spent our pool time over there. It also gets better sun. I picked this hotel over the Esplanade double tree as it had a balcony. They are only small Juliette Balconies so you couldn’t sit there but it was nice to be able to get fresh air particularly after our previous 2 NT hotel experiences. The room was spacious and very clean. Needed some minor maintenance - eg carpet near the exterior door a little damaged. The bathroom was lovely with a nice shower. I’m not sure how old the hotel is but I would say there have been minor refurbishments over the years as the bathroom was modern and spacious and in excellent condition. It also had the signature Hilton light up makeup mirror in the bathroom which I always find super helpful. The bathroom was kitted out with the normal Hilton bathroom supplies which I always enjoy using. The Reception staff at this hotel were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The only reason this hotel didn’t get 5 stars from me was because of a slight issue with the housekeeping. The housekeepers attended and replaced the towels and topped up the tea/coffee supplies but it seemed like they left half way through the job. Our dirty cups were left on the bench and the bed was not made and the caddy for the tea stuff had been taken out of its cupboard and left on the bench. Very odd. I did mention this to Reception and they offered to send up new cups but I said I’d already washed them myself. I understand there are difficulties getting staff in Darwin so perhaps this is a training issue. This minor issue aside I very much enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Doubletree and would stay should I ever visit Darwin again. The staff here for the most part obviously take pride in the Hilton Brand and the hotel seemed like it was very well run.

Great staff, pleasant surroundings, outdated decor, dearer to have breakfast if you are a guest $29 - locals get it cheaper ($25 with pool use), house keeping is ATTROCIOUS - totally missed day 1, only beds made day 2, managed to include towels day 3, beds only day 4, and not vacuumed ONCE! Bathroom paint peeling and moulding, shower tiles water stained curtains not hung/running correctly. "Balcony"... HA!!!!! "Bar Bites" only til 6pm... but order a meal and get what they can't give you as a "bar bite". CANNOT fault the staff or service (except housekeeping) especially Zek.

The room we were given first was dark and dreary and didn’t like it at all. I rang and asked for a better one. On checkin he said there were no rooms with a view or better rooms but I made it clear I didn’t want this room. He showed me room 907 which was much lighter and bigger. It had a king size bed and when we came in thought the bed was not made well. Got worse every day after that even though I complained. Bottom sheet not touched and pillows hanging out of the pillowcase. Staff friendly, breakfast adequate. This is 122 esplanade as there is another one next door no. 116. The Ghan tried to get in touch with me and they were told we were not staying there
