I stayed at Aussie Way for a week and I really enjoyed my time there. Apparently the outside area has been renovated recently and it looks very nice and tidy, there's a BBQ and a pool (small but clean). Staff was very friendly and when i had problems connecting to the wifi they helped me and fixed it, which I...

Hello Dinabird00, thank you very much for your review. We indeed renovated the place some months ago and now we have a roof over our outside area and an updated fence that keeps us sheltered from neighbours. As for WIFI: we have indeed endeavoured to make it a better service, and we have recently decided to give WIFI available to...

As hostels go, this is average. Basic bunk beds, kitchen, living area, info on walls. But there are quite a few long term stayers which makes the atmosphere a bit crap as they weren't welcoming to new guests. Location OK. Owner is nice. Didn't go in pool.

Hello Charlotteahoward, Thank you for leaving a review. We're sorry to hear that our long-term guests weren't very welcoming, but there is not much that we as a hostel can do about that. The only thing we can do is keep the amount of long-stayers low, which is already our policy. I see that you came here in November, so...

If you are staying in a double room, you will be staying at the house behind the main building where the first floor is shared with 4 other couples. There was only one toilet and one bathroom so we had to take turns. The kitchen was small so any time where two parties are trying to cook/prepare food, it gets...

Thank you for leaving a review, Neminskii,- you bring up some valid points. The renovations are about done at this point, so now we have a nice undercover area and a new entertainment room -- no more mess! We apologize that this was underway whilst you were staying here. We also apologize for the state of the pool. This was...

We stopped here for only one night before travelling further north. It was however, a super little hostel: Clean, quiet, great communal areas, powerful showers and small, but cosy rooms. Great value for money in Australia. The location is excellent: an approx 8 minute walk to the train station and 15 mins from the main shopping area of city. The...

I had so many issues with this hostel it's hard to know where to begin. When I got to my room, it was clear it hadn't been cleaned for a while. I was there 4 nights and had several roommates check out and the room was never cleaned! (Though they did empty the bins daily.) The fridge (in dorm not...

Hello SilentShadow101. I notice that you stayed here over half a year ago. Since then, we've undergone many changes,- one of them is a wifi-upgrade. It's better than it used to be, but it's hard to get into all the corners of so big a building. We intend to move our office soon and we'll try to get the wifi...

I feel cheated by the lonely planet with this hostel...it was highly rated in there review, I did not share their views! Hello Katie R. We're sorry that you didn't have a good experience at our hostel. You're right: the staff-member should have taken the time to give you adequate directions. But to be fair: it's not all too easy to explain over the phone which is probably why the staff-member asked if you had a map on you. Nevertheless, the walk...

This is our favourite hostel so far. We booked a double room which was out the back in the separate part of the hostel away from the main part of the hostel. Our little 'house' was next to the pool. We were essentially in our own house sharing with 3 other rooms. We had our own kitchen and bathroom shared...

Hello Cazzie181. Thank you for your kind words, we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your time here. The "no-alcohol" policy is actually very recent and has been put into place because we've had too much trouble with alcohol-related violence. We're very sorry that we had to do it, but alcohol (or rather: people influenced by too much alcohol) has...

Stayed five nights in a private twin. It was clean and well-maintained, with a fridge in the room, though ventilation was not good. The common room area & kitchen were congenial & decently equipped in the private room bldg, but the main dorms' ones are not welcoming or well laid out.. Staff are intelligent and capable enough, though typical of...

Hello VitalianBrother, it's been very interesting to read your review, so thank you for having taken the time to do so. You've made some good points: the kitchen of the private rooms is objectively seen better than the dorm-ones, but it also follows the prices. Regardless, the dorms-kitchen is fully equipped as well and we try to keep it clean....

Hi R12000, thank you for leaving a review. We are a very small hostel and we do try our best to be accommodating. There is unfortunately little we can do about the size of the kitchen -- which usually works out well though, or the set-up of the communal area. The latter not without compromising a lot of seating space...
