Few nights spent in this hostel, not disappointed, clean, quiet, centrally located. When arriving I was sure my gps was wrong, because I could only see the big Hilton sign, but few steps after the Hostel! Very helpful staff. Strange atmosphere though, common room dark and desert, I could not tell why, cause the hostel was not empty. But all...

Hostel is average throughout but I had a great stay here. Met some great people and was very sad to leave. Location is prefect, close to all the shops, pubs, night life and botanic gardens. Head up to the roof top balcony to meet everyone.

Of the several places I stayed in Australia this had to be the worst one. The only god thing about it was the location near the train station. It as about 15 minute walk from the Greyhound stop. It is quite run down and looks as if it needs a good clean. The reception staff were quite aloof and didn't...

We had planned to stay at the Base Embassy for only one night. However, we ended up in their sister hostel up the street because our room wasn't only terribly smelly and dirty (and the sheets had stains and holes) but we also discovered some unexpected roomies (see photo) before going to bed. Unfortunately, the nighty at the front desk...

The worst hostel I've been in years!! The location is good, staff quite friendly, but the rest is horrible. Smelly room, dirty carpet, I saw few cockroaches, bedding wasn't looking clean... You can't open the windows more than few inches... Dirty bathrooms... No lockers! They do have a storage room, but it's not safe at all... Bad experience.

The room was large but the windows were only able to open up a few inches. There were too few toilets to the amount of people staying at the hostel. And the majority of them were disgusting. Moreover, they advocated the minimize water use, which is a good cause. The thing is though, that they have several leaking pipes, which...

I am not joking either. With it's central location The Base Embassy really is surrounded by designer shops, there is Hermes on the opposite corner, Cartier down the road, and Hugo Boss around the corner. But I am much to old to be a backpacker so why am I staying here? Well strangely I am not the oldest backpacker in...

This hostel was in the centre of the shopping district and a great location! The kitchen was a good size and has a balcony on 2 floors which are good to have! There is no fans in the rooms and the air con isn't very good at all which makes it hard to sleep. Overall it is a good hostel

Location is great. I had an 8 bed dorm, spacious enough. Not enough plugs, not enough lockers for everyone. Kitchen was dirty and saw quite a few creepy crawlies. Not the best hostel I ve ever stayed at.
