If you read our earlier review, about the same time last year, we were over the moon about Lucerne on Fernberg. We saw VERY much of Australia in 2009, but were so enchanted that we wanted to come back. And so we did. We can assure the readers of this, if we had the choice of staying at Lucerne or...

Lucerne at Fernberg is the best Bed and Breakfast one can stay at. My only concern is that no other B & B can top this experience. We stayed for 10 days in August, and it was wonderful from the beginning of the trip until the end. The only bad part at the end was, that we did not want...

Where do I start ...the great host and wife ...the fantastic location....beautiful accommodation. I could be on here all day, and still not manage to write all the great things about staying at Lucerne. Top of the list would be Brian....fantastic host. With fresh chook eggs at the ready. Even before we arrived, Brian was e-mailing best route and speed...

We spent three days with Brian in mid April, staying in the Rose Cottage. It was perfect - ensuite with a kitchen - he even provided eggs from his own chickens for us to cook for breakfast! Sitting in the sun on the porch in the morning, drinking coffee and reading the paper with Jetta, his black Lab, at our...

We stayed in Lucerne for 2 nights in mid March 2010 and were very pleased with the location, accommodation, & very helpful host (Brian). At that time, the Cottage was vacant, so we had a choice, but we selected the Coach House. I am not surprised the Lucerne has been number 1 B & B in Brisbane for some time...

We would normally have reservations about "quirky" places - often a term used to explain away less than ideal experiences -but Lucerne is not like that. Two outhouses have been converted into guest accommodation. Our "suite" had a full walk in en-suite, and an excellent fully equipped kitchen, with everything being of extremely high quality. As regards the help and...

We stayed for two nights in the Coach House in November 2009. Lucerne on Fernberg is a beautiful residence and as noted in other reviews, Brian and his family are some of the kindest and most helpful hosts I have ever stayed with. The Coach House is a separate building on the property with a kitchenette downstairs and the bedroom,...

We found Lucerne through Trip Advisor, with all the glowing reports we figured how could we go wrong. As we arrived we were totally impressed by the layout of the gardens and the mainhouse .Brian`s greeting was like meeting an old friend again and with the many chats we had throughout our stay he certainly felt like one. We stayed...

We had the most enjoyable stay with Brian and Helen, who were wonderful hosts. Lucerne is in a great location, which is within easy reach of city. Our room was lovely and was like a home away from home. We will hopefully be back sometime in the near future!!

“Rose Cottage was our favourite, but other cottage is also beautiful.”

“I stayed Rose Cottage - which is well chair accessible - the other is not as it is 2 storey.”

“Rose Cottage did not disappoint.”

“The Coach House was just perfect for my daughter and I to stay in, as stairs are not a problem for either of us. But the larger, and slightly more expensive, Rose Cottage is even more charming and is handicapped accessible as well.”
NannyKDB, 26 Jul 2013 | Read review
“There are two separate self-contained cottages. Thus, one can have complete privacy and the loo, kitchen, main room (each away from the other) provide everything one needs. The frig is stocked with juices, eggs, cheese, butter and much more. Either the Coach House or the Rose Cottage would be swell.”
