Did the 3 day, 2 night liveaboard. The transfer vessel from Cairns to Reef Encounter is the place people are most likely to get sick as the journey out can be quite choppy. I am prone to sea sickness, as is my son. We both took 2 dramamine pills on the way out and were sure to stay outside, eyes on the horizon. While others did get sick we were fine.
Once on the live aboard boat, it was much more stable as it is moored on the coastal side of the reef - thus the water is relatively stable. I took one dramamine every 24 hours and was fine, as was my son. There are plenty of outdoor decks so easy to get fresh air when needed.
