Staying here at end of my east coast trip it was a nice place to stay with a great location right near the main part of town, the hostel itself was nice, the guy on reception was polite and helpful, we were checked in straight away. The room was nice had good enough air-con it was 6 bed dorm with...

Great hostel to stay at. Staff are so friendly and helpful especially the french manager and the Scottish girl, couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome. The price is very reasonable for location. It is close to the lagoon, bars and shops. The rooms were clean and the courtyard was great to socialise.

I stayed at the Koala Beach Resort with three friends in September '14. We got there late at night and had no choice but stay there, because there was nowhere else open at that time of night. But seriously - we opened the door to our apartment (we booked a "4 beds, a kitchen and living room"-apartment) and the first...

They don't follow their opening hours and opened half an hour later than they were supposed to and the same when closing. The manager didn't even approach the problem properly, instead she blamed the fault on someone else. There is alot of things that are broken and need fixing but there's no one doing anything and the whole hostel smells...

This place is fine. When we were there the kitchen was clean and our rooms were clean. I can see how people would complain but for price location I cannot argue. Will be back - just not the Hilton that's all you have to know ! Staff very nice and supportive

Hard to begin the description of this hostel. First room we got was a four bed dorm. It was disgusting and filthy so we changed. We got a dorm with six beds. No air conditioning in the humid climate so it was hot. The kitchen was filthy and cockroaches were running around. Don't stay here.

We stayed in Cairns for 2 weeks for a relatives wedding. Koala Beach is so convenient for Cairns and the surrounding area, especially the lagoon although there is a pool in the hotel. The staff are really lovely, and even the other guests are extremely friendly, we were made to feel extremely welcome and had the best 2 weeks holiday....

I stayed at Koalas for nearly 5 months and just like most hostels, there is the good and the bad sides to this place. The staff are all great - friendly, helpful and there whenever you need anything. The dorms are pretty cool - each room has a sitting area and little kitchenette, which is nice. The courtyard has a...
