Because I planned to be out and about in Port Douglas I looked for somewhere that was on the cheaper side, first looked into the backpackers but ended up with MUCH better value at the Lychee Tree. For LESS than a private room (with a grotty ensuite and a very grotty shared kitchen) at the backpackers I got a huge...

We stayed at the Lychee Tree for a week in September 2009. The resident managers were away (probably having a well earned break) but the temporary manager was terrific. The accomodation in our 2 bedroom unit was basic and simple but everything that we needed was included. Travelling with a 3yo and an 8yo meant that we often ate "at...

We absolutely loved our stay at Lychee Tree! The apartments are spacious and comfortable and the grounds are beautifully maintained with a gorgeous pool to lay around in the afternoons! Lee and Paul were incredibly helpful from the time we booked our stay through arranging our transportation back home--they even provide personalized recommendations for tour trips (and other activities around...

We loved staying here, just wish it could have been longer. Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the beach, and 10 minutes walk from town centre / marina. Staff were extremely helpful with advice on everything from where to eat, to where to buy cheapest fuel for our car. Apartment was clean and comfortable.

We had an extended break with two young children and found the Lychee Tree just right for what we wanted. Although it's next to a camping and cabin park, it's very private and quiet (except for the dawn chorus of the birds! ;) ), and the pool was a definite highlight - my preschooler spent at least an hour, and...

This place is a little way out of the centre but really close to the beach, the apartment is really nice with lots of facilities. Lee has lots of advice and has good recommendations for trips and routes to take. If you go out on the reef, choose Wavelength instead of one of the big companies. They do snorkelling only...

My husband, my sister and I stayed at the Lychee Tree in Port Douglas as our base for trips to snorkel the reef, visit Daintree, Cape Trib, Mossman Gorge, etc. We absolutely loved our apartment (2 bedroom), and were amazed that it had a great kitchen with everything you could need as well as a washer/dryer in the bathroom. The...

First off, Paul and Lee were lovely, so no complaints about them. The units though, were very, very basic and rather expensive. I would have expected a lot more for what we paid. For us, the 'nickel and diming' really is not all that necessary. There is a fee for most things here. It if was cheap, I wouldn't mind...

We sincerely thank our reviewer for her kind words to us as managers for our efforts. We always strive for 5 star quality service. We do, however wish to mention, that although we aim to indulge our guests with our service, we are indeed a 3 1/2 star rated property. Lychee Tree offers comfortable apartment accommodation for guests to enjoy...

We were really surprised at how good Lychee Tree was as a base for our holiday. It has great facilities and the pool was really good for our 2 toddlers. Lee and Paul were excellent - always ready to assist and had some really good advice regarding the activities and tours that were available. The unit was really clean and...
