Thanks to JOHN the Manager who picked us up and drove an hour in the dark to the lodge, dodging animals of all sorts. You have to go to the amazing rock tour...very great photos can be taken there. Wish they did room service. Open bar and wine cellar are my favourite parts as well as our room #19. If...

Dear Lori-Ann K We are thankful for the time taken to share your comments and are pleased that overall you enjoyed your experience of Southern Ocean Lodge and the natural wonderland of Kangaroo Island. A note regarding room service; this isn't in keeping with the convivial atmosphere we strive to create and which is at the heart of the lodging...

Despite all it's good points I was food poisoned by the freshwater crayfish on my first full day. I spent that night (from 3am) vomiting and all of the next day and night in bed. I ate the most expensive piece of toast in my life on that day (as this was the only thing I could stomach) Such a...

Dear John, Naturally we are very sorry that you were unwell during your stay. However, the claim of food poisoning is serious and we wish to address it immediately; we’re able to confirm there were no reports of illness from other guests in-house at the time, who all enjoyed the same fresh, locally sourced produce as yourselves. We certainly tried...

My new favourite place in the world! The Southern Ocean Lodge surpassed all my expectations. From the moment you are welcomed by the friendly staff, to entering the spectacular lounge area, your time at the lodge is luxurious and unforgettable. Our two day itinerary organised for us was perfect. It included a beautiful cliff top walk, trip to the Flinders...

This resort is one of the most beautifully designed resorts I've ever seen. From the moment you walk into the grand room to the service food and the large suite facing the ocean everything about it is special.

We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday at SOL as part of a 17 day trip in SA and Victoria. I only wish that we had booked longer there. The Lodge is stunning, the service impeccable, the wood outstanding. There is an extensive range of activities that are included and they were all great. The place is expensive, no doubt, but...

Was in Australia for 3 weeks, and was very excited to include this spot as part of the trip. Our 3 night stay did not disappoint. Took the flight from Adelaide, which was seamless, and picked up by SOL with several other couples at the airport. The island from the road, on the 1hr long drive, is rather non-descript, but...

We visited in February. This resort is faultless. Walking through the main doors to that fabulous view was a real wow factor. The rooms are beautiful as is the location. Loved the electric blinds and the well stocked fridge. Walking along empty beautiful beaches was a pleasure. All the excursions were great fun - the guides being being very knowledgable...

They don't make it easy to get here, but the staff make it as easy as possible from the moment you land. A driver from SOL was waiting for us even though we landed late in the evening. We were transferring from our stay at Longitude and it was really great to hear they had learned a bunch about us...

What a wonderful place! The attention to detail is extraordinary and the experience is sublime. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, the food is like eating at Rockpool (now 11 Bridge St) every meal. So much wine to choose from and since most people know at least something about South Australian wine, not hard to find something suitable. Oh, and...

Stayed 3 nights with my husband to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The lodge has been a dream destination for us for years and it exceeded the sky high expectations we had. The suites are perfectly decorated to be beautiful but not detract from the amazing views. The privacy and peace are absolute. The included tours are great but a...
