These cabins are literally at the end of the road. The last four km. are actually a track, so beware if you have a low clearance vehicle. The cabins are self contained, but basic. Hot showers are excellent and the small kitchen is functional. You must bring in all provisions. You come here for wildlife, not luxury. Len, the owner,...

You come here for the amazing wildlife encounters and glorious scenery as well as the owner's unmatched knowledge of the area. No WiFi, phone signal, shops or TV here. Self-catering so bring supplies (some very limited supplies are provided) but there's plenty of cutlery etc. Chalets are quaint, clean and functional and set in beautiful surroundings. The outfit appears to...

Enjoyed this place very much. Our cabin was updated so no complaints there. But really you come here for the amazing wildlife and we saw plenty. Devils, possums, pademelons, quolls and wombats not to mention the birds which were all fantastic. The food was very good and I did not mind being off the grid technology-wise. That's a plus in...

Beautiful cabins in bush setting with open fires, full kitchen for cooking meals, comfortable beds and plenty of room. Plenty of bushwalking available, river is clean and wild, just a short walk away. Best of all is the nighttime wildlife, Tassie Devils and Quolls coming right up to the cabin to feed.

Wooden cabins with an authentic fire place. There is no phone reception for miles but it is full of nature all around. We were lucky to see quolls and Devils within the first 2 nights, and it seemed both pretty much visit the compound each night (just depends when and where you are looking!). Our hosts were friendly and very...

The food is great and the hosts are genial, but you may have to set your expectations a bit for the rest. The keyword is "wilderness," so this is not some upscale ecolodge. The cabins are worn but clean and the decor is funky. But you also don't care because there are Tasmanian Devils and all sorts of wildlife right...

We stayed at this magnificent wildlife refuge about 4 years ago and have talked about it ever since. It is such a beautiful location on the Leven River with so many wild native animals, a roaring fire (pre-prepared for us), cold crisp fresh air, stars and such wonderful welcoming hosts. Watching quolls, devils and a host of other animals just...

We spent 2 nights in April 2016 and the wildlife was exceptional with wild Tasmanian Devils, Spotted-tail Quolls and Pademelons just outside the cabin windows and Platypus swimming in the nearby river. On damp days you might possibly acquire a leech, so take the usual precautions if this would be a problem for you. The accommodation is a bit dated...

Spent 2 nights at Mountain Valley mid December. As very keen wildlife enthusiasts we were really looking forward to our visit and it did not disappoint. Len was welcoming and gave us plenty of information and tips for giving ourselves the best chances of seeing as much as possible. Just before dusk we took a short walk with him down...

If you want to see Platypus, Devils, and Quolls, this is the place to visit. The cabins are quite rustic but clean and comfortable. The small kitchens are well equipped for self catering and the beds are comfortable. The best attraction is the wildlife and birdlife around the property. We stayed in the Blue Wren cottage which was perfect for...
