Good location. Overpriced for the size of room though. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to Constitution Dock so everything was easily accessible by foot. The saving grace was how attentive and helpful the staff were.
I have stayed here in 2018 (4 years ago) as it is across the road from the Royal Hobart Hospital. I stayed recently (1 week ago) for 2 nights as I had a day surgery. I had arranged with Sonny the reception staff member who was more than obliging, I requested a late checkout as a member and due to the surgery. The rooms are really tiny and overpriced compared to other hotels I have stayed at in the Mantra Group now Accor. I was advised that my Mantra membership is no longer, due to merging with Accor which was OK however there were no benefits offered compared to the Mantra apart from the late checkout. With the Mantra membership I was usually offered a membership discount but nope not anymore. Well I thought the late checkout was OK however the cleaner entered my room 1 hour before my agreed checkout asking if I had a late checkout and if I had had the checkout "cleared" by reception to which I said yes of course. Now to the cleanliness...this hotel was closed for several months due to Covid and one would have thought that whilst the staff were off on JobKeeper the hotel would have used this opportunity to have the staff thoroughly clean each room! Nope the bathroom floor was quite dirty with built up scum and dirt in the grout, the corners of the bathroom floor were filthy as if the cleaners just mopped the floor without scrubbing the corners. The inside windows were unclean with hand marks. The room was very tired looking which a coat of paint would have lifted the look. The aircon/heating was either too hot or cold no in-between. The linen and pillows seemed worn out and outdated. Once again the staff were fantastic apart from the obtrusive cleaner staff member which really ended my stay with a very bitter taste. The room was pretty quiet until 6am when the hospital loading dock started each morning which I guess the hotel has no control over but worth thinking about when booking this hotel, maybe book a back room. This hotel is probably good for the business traveller that needs to wake early or isn't too concerned about quality and cleanliness. The breakfast was amazing... Will I return...NO!…
We spent four nights here on a Tasmanian holiday. The Front desk service was extremely friendly and efficient, I could not fault it. As a platinum member I received an upgrade to a larger room which we were very thankful for, a gift and free breakfast. The room was excellent for a four-star hotel. The bed was big and comfortable , bathroom & towels room ok , TVs works ok. For a four-star hotel at my all my expectations. The café in the reception area that we had breakfast was excellent. The food was different and extremely well prepared with generous portions. One of the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. I would recommend this hotel 100% congratulations to it’s all it’s staff. Top marks.
We stayed at the Mantra Collins Hotel, as it was close within walking distance to multiple attractions in Hobart and its waterfront restaurants. The room was clean and tidy with everything we needed for our short stay.
Very friendly staff! Welcomed us with a smile and even got us out of a jam when we lost our parking ticket. The room was very clean and surprisingly quiet being right in the middle of the city. Coffee was great too in the cafe in the lobby. Will be staying there again when we visit Hobart next time.
