I've stayed here a couple of times for business and each time the bathrooms are always so dirty I felt the need to wear thongs in the shower. I've never said anything before, but this last time I decided to raise it with reception to ask if they could clean properly. Shower floors are full of soap scum and mould....

Incredibly old, shabby scary place! Bars on the windows half below grade of a major , noisy busy street. I asked to be moved to a room with out bars on windows but they said not. I saw plenty rooms unoccupied . Very inconvenient to car park with luggage as my husband has trouble with his knee and walking. The...

Dear Guest, I think you are taking your comment a bit far. This 100 year old property is classic in design and feel has lasted many more years then most and dated rather well. Unlike us human our bodies do fall apart when we get old! Funny that. The property is under renovation and I have 24 rooms out of...

Our room was shabby with old fashioned furnishing. As we entered the room there was the back of a huge wardrobe on the right hand side which was used presumably as a divider. The room was dark and depressing. The kitchen was in the middle of the seating area and bedroom. The bathroom was grubby and old fashioned. We looked out...

Dear Guest, thank you for your review and glad the kids like the pool. The only hotel outside pool in Hobart I think!! As we renovate the hotel is has bt pressure on the cost of running the restaurant and at times we have to close it. Not what I want and plan. Promise. Stay tuned for more exciting news...

This is not your typical modern Rydges complex. The main building is an historical old world structure with many interesting period features and a great outlook over North Hobart Oval towards the city. The building has its creaky floorboards and stairs but beside it are a number of more modern structures also for accommodation. Staff at the hotel are dedicated...

We stayed here for three nights as it was located in a great area in North Hobart. Easy to get to shopping restaurant area on Elizabeth's street, close to the Botanical Gardens and easy access to the main Highways. The room we stayed in had not been refurbished, but it was clean, very large and had everything we needed. It...

On weekend when their is sport on you have the best view from our heritage rooms and from the restaurant balcony. thank you for your...

The Rydges hotel is one of the highlights of my frequent trips to Hobart. Whilst the place is obviously quite old - management make your stay so pleasant by listening to what you want and doing everything they can to accommodate it. I had some trouble with noisy neighbours and the staff went around and asked them to be more...

Such a stunning building. Rooms are so dated though. Very 70s and desperately need updating. Lots of wood paneling and bad furniture. Very clean still. Bed so amazingly comfy though!!!! And staff divine. Was obviously stunning in its day and could be again.

Grand old building, large clean well furnished room, dining room looks out over Hobart. helpful staff. Good selection of food, well presented. The hotel is made up of the old main building and more recent buildings but blends in well.

This building was on a site in North Hobart which had previously been a 'blind and deaf institute', and before that a site for women convicts and then new immigrants. I had a newly refurbished room with a view down to the city and the bay which was very good. The restaurant and reception are were in the older building....
