Large comfortable room..more of a suite really. Modern bathroom and kitchen. Friendly reception staff. Tasty breakfast was included. Only negative is very creaky flooring and noise carries..but it is an old building. Good free parking is a bonus. Would stay again.

I stayed at the Rydges recently and was upgraded to a suite. Spacious bedroom, lounge room and dining room. Foxtel included and all for under $150. Lovely feel to the refurbished building. 5 minutes to the CBD and a walk to busy North Hobart. Will be back.

Apparently It came as quite a shock that Liz had cancer and Freds marriage fell apart after 25 years. Seems his wife left him for their gardener but given I have no idea who any of these people are, I really could not care less. This was the conversation that I was privy to at 2am loud and clear through...

Why does everyone quote faulty towers when it comes to hotel experiences.! The show was amazing, lots of laughs and in some way a reflection on true life because all business not mater a hotel or what ever, things do go wrong in a strange kind of way, sort of in this case. I thought about writing a long winded...

My husband and I have just returned home from a two night stay at Rydges. After booking we were a little concerned when we read some recent reviews which didn't exactly inspire confidence. However, we need not have worried. We stayed in a recently refurbished room, overlooking the swimming pool. The rooms were huge, with the bedroom upstairs. Everything was...

Dear Lady Barb, Thank you for your comments and feedback during your stay. We have a few more painting going up which should add some more color to our rooms, so this is not far away. Our review have had some unusual responses I do admit but we are working hard and honestly to turn things around. Our new Manor...

Recently "renovated" room stank of new paint so badly you had to keep the windows open (in Hobart in winter) and I suffer from asthma which is made worse by paint, door lock faulty and couldn't get in or out and receptionist couldn't have cared less, phone in room didn't plug into anything with cord just hanging in the air...

Rooms are quite spacious and on the face of them quite well appointed with wood panelling, nice cornices and that sort of thing. However it falls down on some "details", bed mattresses probably haven't been changed in ages. One of the lamps over the bed didn't work. There was an ancient radio next to the bed that didn't work and...

I've stayed here a couple of times for business and each time the bathrooms are always so dirty I felt the need to wear thongs in the shower. I've never said anything before, but this last time I decided to raise it with reception to ask if they could clean properly. Shower floors are full of soap scum and mould....

Incredibly old, shabby scary place! Bars on the windows half below grade of a major , noisy busy street. I asked to be moved to a room with out bars on windows but they said not. I saw plenty rooms unoccupied . Very inconvenient to car park with luggage as my husband has trouble with his knee and walking. The...

Dear Guest, I think you are taking your comment a bit far. This 100 year old property is classic in design and feel has lasted many more years then most and dated rather well. Unlike us human our bodies do fall apart when we get old! Funny that. The property is under renovation and I have 24 rooms out of...

Our room was shabby with old fashioned furnishing. As we entered the room there was the back of a huge wardrobe on the right hand side which was used presumably as a divider. The room was dark and depressing. The kitchen was in the middle of the seating area and bedroom. The bathroom was grubby and old fashioned. We looked out...

Dear Guest, thank you for your review and glad the kids like the pool. The only hotel outside pool in Hobart I think!! As we renovate the hotel is has bt pressure on the cost of running the restaurant and at times we have to close it. Not what I want and plan. Promise. Stay tuned for more exciting news...
