This hotel is a national trust property which is what all guests must understand when staying. This means that "modern living" is not what you are in for. My partner and I stay in their heritage room for two people, we ended up on the top floor which meant a flight of stair up. (NO LIFTs). The rooms where huge,...

Stayed for two days whilst travelling around Tasmania. Room was very large but many of the fittings didn't work or very tatty. Decided to eat in the restaurant as the hotel is some distance from the city, big mistake. Steak was overdone, and my wife's salmon very dry. Overall, hotel is looking very tired and under-staffed.

This booking was made for me at work. I didn't realise it was so far out of town. The main building is lovely. The rooms are 'grandma chic' which I didn't love on arrival bit kind of grew on me. Some of the rooms require a bit of a walk but the staff were more than happy to help with...

The hotel is about 2 km from the centre of town so it's nice a quiet. The staff are great (but there was one reception staff who didn't know much, but she is only young and I am sure she will improve). There is a cricket ground just outside, so it might be a bit noisy when a game is...

Lovely heritage room nice quiet location and staff very helpful with local knowledge. Views over North Hobart oval were fantastic to the city and waterfront. Being walking distance to Elizabeth St restaurants was an added bonus. Bathrooms were in need of a makeover but we're very clean still. Overall a lovely place to stay.

My whole family wasn't enjoying the stay in this hotel for a few reasons. First , we are given a room on second floor. The only assess to it is thru staircase. Therefore, it made us very difficult to carry our lunggages since I am bring my two kids,3&9 yrs olds plus my mum,65 yrs old. secondly , we required...

Stayed here twice this trip, but many times previously. This time in a king room and then in a twin. Both rooms were really comfortable, with the marvelous Rydges beds. Perfect for a great night's sleep. Bonus of a small kitchenette is great too. Good restaurant and with better prices than most ... especially with a Rydges card for 20%...

Our Sports Team stayed here recently. The heritage of the main building was the main draw card which was beautiful as well as the furniture. Our rooms were down the back in a more modern building. Our rooms were very spacious and well appointed with all amenities. However the decor was one from a past era maybe the 70's or...

Spacious rooms, furnitures a bit run down. Beds good, bathroom new. Quiet place and nice view. Stayed there 2 nights, location is good, walking distance to Elisabeth Street with plenty of pubs and restaurants. You would need a car to get to the harbour. Not sure about public transport.
