We stayed for 4 nights is a family room with private bathroom. The location is very central to the dock area, the mall and the Salamanca area. The negatives are that there is no lift (stairs only) and 3 floors. Also, there is a town clock nearby that chimes every 15 minutes, but we were able to sleep with ear... More

This is the WORST hostel I have EVER stayed in. The kitchen is only big enough for about 4 people, and there's over 100 beds. The lounge is disgusting, the kind of place you don't want to touch anything. The bathroom smells like stale urine. But the worst part is the noise... There is a bar directly underneath which plays... More

My room (with private bathroom) was clean enough, though I would have scrubbed the toilet bowl a bit harder. Everything worked, and there was plenty of tea and coffee making stuff. The location is convenient and I did not find it noisy. This probably depends on where your room is. The bed was too soft for me though. You reach... More

This was a very disappointing experience. The single room was AUD123 a night, no ensuite bathroom, room dirty, covered in dust, apparently noone has cleaned here in a while. So where the showers, I've never seen anyone cleaning there. Was so gross that I showered with my flipflops on. Rooms will not be made up but trash was emptied after... More

Great location, clean suitable facilities. However hotel/hostel is above a pub. Impossible to sleep here with the noise from the traffic (aka raceway) outside, music from the pub and the general noise from doors banging inside the hostel. Oh and the bells from the church! Bring earplugs or if you're a traveller who values their sleep, stay elsewhere.

Stayed for two nights in the new year peak period in a double and single bed combo. -Staff are friendly -Clean and tidy rooms, bit cramped in the room we stayed but I suppose it's to be expected -Free tea and coffee, thankfully generous with the milk. -No lifts to the floors -Kitchen has all the essentials but cramped at... Stayed here for 4 nights. The first 2 nights in the female dorm was alright, however the 12 bed mixed dorm reeked of smoke and was noisy throughout the night. The toilets were clean and the staff did everything they could to ensure we had a good stay.

Pros: Good and central location, friendly staff, free wifi (but you need to go and get new tickets all the time). Fairly clean bathrooms. Unfortunately that's not enough. This place is just far too crowded. The kitchen is worst; it's a tiny kitchen, like those you have in your own apartment, but this is for the whole hostel (and they... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay. We had fresh towels everyday and our bed was made nicely for us. The toilets were also cleaned everyday and it was pretty quiet during the night. The owner and the staff were so friendly and did their best with everything we needed!! We will definately stay here again :)

Spent 2 nights at the YHA and was left feeling a bit underwhelmed. The kitchen is tiny and in all honesty the whole place is in need of a face lift. There is also no lockers or storage in the rooms. On the plus side there is free WiFi and I found the TV room to be always quiet so... More
