Gattonside is a stunning heritage building full of character both outside & inside. It's actually part of the National Trust of Australia. The house is beautifully maintained & decorated, & is both luxurious & homely. The rooms are very large & comfortable, as are the beds, & the bathroom was very spacious. An added extra touch is the cosy guests'...

I absolutely loved staying in this stunning home. The home itself is stunning, the property was easy to find and easy to access. The Owner gave good instructions regarding getting into the property. Everything was lovely and clean and there was a beautiful lounge that you could sit in with a coffee machine, port and fudge waiting for you. The...

A charming old house close to the town centre and the beautiful Battery Point Owner is a delight - so friendly and knowledgeable about things you are likely to enjoy - gave us great advice every time Large size rooms in comfortable setting and a wonderful communal lounge. My only complaint is no working fireplace- but the chess set and...

We stayed here for two nights for a mini weekend getaway. Our first impressions of the B&B was lovely, the front facade is absolutely beautiful. This was a first for my husband and I to stay in a heritage property as usually we prefer something more modern. Check in was nice and easy, a few days before we received the...

A lovely old building with a great history. The room was spacious and comfortable. It did tend to be a bit noisy from the road traffic, but it was reasonable. Bathroom was good with good towels. Bed linen was great with plenty of extra blankets. The sitting room was good, but it was too cold to sit and relax. Breakfast...

This is not a fancy hotel - it is a an old style bed and breakfast with infinite charm. We enjoyed our breakfast - omlettes, the port and the fudge. Only possible improvement would be a roaring fire in the lounge - to warm us up after a freezing Hobart day. Loved it

We stayed 2 nights last week in room 4 (spa). It was a lovely large room which was very comfortable. It was on the side of the building, so it was quiet with hardly any traffic noise. It was also within easy walking distance of Salamanca and even the centre of Hobart. Breakfast was included with plenty of fresh fruit,...

I loved the idea of this place, and Ioved the history of the building. We had a lovely large room at the front of the building, but that also made it quite noisy, including street traffic & people coming in & out the front door. The occupants of room 2 next door were quite noisy & the sound travelled through....

Gattonside is a magnificent Bed and Breakfast located very close to Salamanca and the centre of Hobart. We had room 7 which was a lovely big room on the side of the house. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge (with spa). Breakfast was included in our stay but we were too comfortable in bed...

Stayed one night only, but would definitely stay again. Lovely sized room in historic house. Sort of place you should stay several nights to appreciate historic accommodation. Freshly cooked breakfast with excellent service. Price of room was very reasonable given the location, close to Salamanca, with ample parking. Have no hesitation about recommending the accommodation and yes it is old,...
