We had heard great things about the The Henry Jones Art Hotel and decided to stay with them for 2 nights in October. The location is fantastic and overlooks the dock with lots of restaurants and Salamanca markets in easy walking distance. The service was very good as well as the on premise bar and restaurant. We stayed in a... More

What a surprise this hotel was. A converted factory with a focus on art. We just loved this hotel, the concierge service was very helpful and experienced, the art gallery, the decor all very special. No real view from our room but it really didn't matter.

A good sign of being in a great hotel is when you don't need to call the service desk because you don't have to. The Henry Jones is beautifully appointed - add that to the lovely cocktail bar and eateries surrounding it. Been here a few times now and it never fails to impress. Not cheap but well worth every... This hotel is located in the ideal position overlooking Constitution Dock a short walk from Salamanca Markets and the centre of town. The ambience is fantastic being the converted Henry Jones IXL jam factory. Lots of history. Unfortunately the architects got a few of the basics wrong during the conversion of the room we were in including an internal frosted... More

The loft apartments are at the back of the hotel and they back onto a laneway were the rubbish trucks turn up every day about 6.30 am to load and also the local restaurants take all their rubbish and laundry down the alleyway in big bins which they roll along the cobble stones which kept waking us from about 6am... April took care of us during our recent visit to Hobart, a restored jam factory into art hotel. We stayed in loft room right off the indoor courtyard. The property has 500 pieces of art for purchase & brighten up the hotel. April also arranged a wine tour & our visit to Mona. You must have a craft cocktail prepared... More

We came to Henry Jones Hotel after leaving other accommodation early which didn't work out. The Henry Jones staff booked us in on the spot into a lovely king studio room and provided exceptional service. Nothing was a bother. We will book here again if ever in Hobart again.

I am so glad I booked in to the Henry Jones on our first trip to Hobart, it's so much more than a hotel. If you're looking for a boutique hotel with a difference this is the place! Everywhere you look there is amazing art to be seen. I love the way they have kept as much of the original... More

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here this weekend. It's some time since we stayed at this wonderful hotel but it's pleasing to see the standards haven't slipped. Our check in was seamless, including our car parking arrangements. Our room was on the first floor and we wandered around on the way there looking at the beautiful artworks.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
