My 4 week trip round Oz incorporated 7 different hotels and the 2 nights here were just about the best I had! Arranged a pick up from the airport through the hotel that worked out cheaper than just getting a taxi and meant I had a very friendly local driver waiting and a smooth journey into Hobart. The hotel itself...

The Henry's Jones Art Hotel is very special both in its location right by the wharf ( great view of the harbour basins, cruise ships, leisure boats, fishing boats, restaurants) an die in that it is a historical house, a former jam factory owned by Henry Jones. Unfortunately, neither the free historic tour of the house nor the walking tour...

This is a fine hotel with nice, spacious rooms and good service. It doesn't everything well except breakfast which on some days was slow. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Gave us good suggestions for touring and helped with tickets.

Stayed on the 1st night of our 8 day holiday in Tassie. Picked the Henry Jones, because of it's reviews, location, and we were celebrating my wife's birthday. We had booked a Loft Studio room, as we had our 13 year old son with us. When we checked into the room we were immediately disappointed, by the general condition of...

We were guests at a recent function held in a cordoned off area within the atrium of the hotel. I didn't know that the hotel offered that and thought it was an excellent space. Our generous hosts had purchased a great drinks package and the food was excellent- really tasty canapés. But.....what's with the the service? I had always thought...

This hotel is an art gallery including in the rooms. Numerous paintings by modern artists everywhere. Very interesting overall design of the hotel bar patios rooms. Excellent service by the desk staff. Breakfast is not exceptional but offers significant combinations to choose from and presentation top. One remark at the level a bathtub is expected and having the bed and...

The Art hotel used to be a top hotel. This visit it was really showing the signs of lack of investment. Maybe because there is a new hotel being built next door? After a lot of stays it was like the first visit. The service is way off and a lot of money needs to be spent on the finishes....

This former factory was rebuilt as a hotel. it is a success! The rooms are large and romantic with their old sandstone walls. The service is excellent. The receptionists are nice and affable. Negative: The breakfast is not varied and the viennoiseries are served cold.

We were staying with friends in Hobart and figured we would give them a few day's break so we checked into the Art Hotel. The reception was warm and welcoming and check-in was very thorough. Our car was quickly swept away by the valet and the reception clerk walked us through the hotel to check out all,of the amenities. The...

A wonderful time set in a beautiful artzy room with a plethora of unique and exciting boutiques contained in the old building. A must visit to experience a little bit of quality and genuine warmth of Tassie hospitality.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
