I will never stay anywhere else in Hobart given the choice. The hotel itself is lovely: central, well maintained with comfortable beds, windows that open to let in the cool air, spotlessly clean bathrooms, etc etc. But that's not the best bit. The best bit is Tildy (I can hear saying now, 'Bit! She called me a bit!'). She's like...

An experience not to be missed! Delightful boutique hotel in CBD. Owner Tildy runs an excellent business. Rooms may be from another era but they are spotless, sheets crisp and towels soft and fluffy. The continental breakfast is an added bonus!

Stayed here for a few days in an ensuite room. The hotel and room was really clean - and it's in a great location, easy walk to Salamanca markets and some great restaurants. Tildy the host was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

The Astor Private Hotel opened in 1922 and is located in the business district of Hobart surrounded mostly with offices, The location is perfect and just a short walk to the harbor and the sights of Hobart. The owner, Tildy makes your visit to Hobart and Tasmania special. Our ensuite bathroom was small but newly renovated with a great shower...

After my third time at staying at this wonderful establishment, this review has been a long time coming. On each occasion I've stayed in Hobart my time at the Astor has been second to none. This B&B style accommodation offers: comfortable rooms, an inner-city location that is impossible to beat and a decent continental breakfast to kick off your day....

If you want budget accommodation, look no further! Lovely old historic building with character and charm. Rooms and shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Free parking if you are lucky to grab one of the few spots. There is free wifi and comfortable common room with shared fridge and a generous continental breakfast included. Location is very central, short walk to...

Would have to be the warmest, friendliest accommodation you could ever find. Is it the wonderful mattresses, the charm of a more gracious era when having breakfast, maybe being so handy to absolutely everything you might want to do over the festive period or at the very least, "Tildy", the owner and resident comedian who makes sure you have a...

Great place to stay in Hobart! - Very convenient location with walking distance to Taste Festival, Constitution Dock, Salamanca Markets and much more. - We have stayed the last two years following our Sydney to Hobart yacht race. The manager is super nice, funny and attentive. - Rooms & bathrooms are clean. - Well priced. Highly recommend!

High level of service at this quirky hotel. Of course rates are a little higher in peak season but we had a fantastic stay - best value in Hobart CBD. Staff are all friendly & efficient thanks to Tildy the happy & energetic Manager.

Booked for two nights and stayed for three as part of our honeymoon over Christmas. Tildie gave us a beautiful sweet overlooking Macquarie street with big bay windows. Charming hotel, beautifully appointed and perfectly suited to Hobart. Tildie is a fantastic host and adds to the charm of the Astor, as the reviews state. Don't tell her though or she'll...
