We stayed two nights and were pleasantly surprised on how spacious the apartment was. Great views and close to everything. The staff were so helpful with directions and how to manage the trams! We will certainly be coming back.

The room we were appointed was dirty. They moved us to another room, which was apparently an upgrade but it was not much better, certainly not what I expected from Mantra. We prepaid breakfast and this was below average. I would not stay here again, nor recommend it to any of my friends. The up side was the friendly reception...

Booked a 2 bed 2 bath apartment on a Mantra special. If you know you need accommodation take advantage of these prices....exceptionally good value. Given an apartment we all happy with, slept the first night, but unfortunately air con was not working so management happily moved us to an even better apartment. We found them to be very accommodating, friendly...

The appartment was big enough for 4 adults and good bedroom sizes. Bathrooms good but floor tiles a bit outdated. Kitchen was good and we were able to cook Xmas lunch. Needed more utensils and pots though. Enjoyed our stay.

We had a one night stay at the Mantra on the park to do all the Christmas things in Melbourne City. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the friendly reception staff. We were upgraded to the 3 bedroom penthouse which was spacious, and clean, and had 2 1/2 bathrooms. We loved it. The Mantra...

This apartments are far short of the ratings given on their website. We were given smallish rooms and must say did not come anywhere near other apartments we used in Australia. Whilst the staff are friendly and cooperative the apartments are tired and need a major makeover for guests to feel comfortable. The cleaning service of the rooms in all...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
