Stayed on the 4th floor. If you want to get some sleep don't book this hotel, the constant door banging from other apartments would shake the wall. There is NO WAY this hotel is four star (perhaps self rated?) Pros: good location, good facilities such as washing machine & cooktop Cons: lumpy bed, noisy, tiny TV I stayed her on...

One night here of consistent door banging (all night coming and going) was enough for me. Lighting in bathroom inadequate. More instructions needed as to how to use microwave. Otherwise quite central if you can put up with the problems.

I was somewhat surprised by the accommodation because I was expecting a bit of a cesspit based on the Trip Advisor reviews. I booked a basic studio apartment for a low rate ($130). It was acceptable for a one night stay for two people, but would be better suited for one person only. The room had a double bed and...

We booked a superior studio apartment for 2 nights. Whilst the apartment overall was clean, the corners and grooves of the shower screens were covered in built up dirt and mould. The WiFi signal was either non-existent or so weak that we were unable to use it for our entire stay. Our room (215) faced on to A'Becket St. There...

Stayed here for a few nights while helping my daughter settle into her uni. The location was fantastic - near to tram stops, Victoria market, eateries, shops and within walking distance to many attractions. You can have your luggage stored first if you arrive early before the check in time. You feel as if you are living in your own...

This is really poor accommodation with the service desk only open late morning and closing at around 5pm. This is incredibly myself including other guests have to wait on the side of a curb at 5am for a total of 8 HOURS to check in. Even after calling the after hours number for support none was provided. The rooms we're...

Stayed here for one night with my partner. Great central location, very clean, receptionist was rude to start with but became more friendly as we were checking in. The room is fine, but for a "deluxe one bedroom" it is tiny, don't trust the pictures. The bedroom is actually just two sliding doors that slide to cut off the bed...

This was a huge disappointment. Manager is very rude - she doesn't listen customers at all. Other staff was friendly. They advertise free wifi, which it is not - a couple of hours for several days is ridiculous. Blankets were horrible - so dirty. Couches were also in terrible condition. Everywhere you touched there was dirt. Never going back.

The apartment's double bed was actually just two single beds pushed together, the mattresses themselves were terrible - very hard. There was a lot of street noise in the mornings as road works were taking place, the bathroom floor was soaked after a shower because the shower's doors do not keep the water inside the shower. The bin was broken,...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
