Lovely central place to stay! Good breakfast with a great variety of food and very close to southern cross station and the tram stops. Staff were friendly and always happy to help. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room was large with good view. Staff friendly , nothing a problem. CBD free transport is at your doorstep. Breakfast limited but fine. Pool is suitable for laps and gym very good.Terrific value for money. Had trouble with WiFi connection but had data available.

I reviewed a number of comments here after booking a room and became very concerned. What I discovered on arrival was a neat and tidy lobby, a clean but basic room. I think it needs to be said that if want to spend less than $200 for a couple per night, on a weekend, in the silly season you will...

Pretty standard hotel in a good location, across the road from Southern Cross Station and 5 min walk from Etihad Stadium. Certainly nothing special but for the price (I paid just $150) it was pretty good value. My room had a view towards Docklands and my only issue was an annoying sound (water dripping? Sounded like a sizzling frying pan)...

The room was clean and spacious.. the only thing that we were disappointed is that the TV did not have any channels to watch.. so basically it was like a toy on display.. pls also note it does not have free breakfast..

We booked this accommodation as a stop over when we returned from overseas, thought processes being it is Best Western and ideally located. Well all I can say after encountering the filth of the room and absolute dismal buffet is never again. There were stains on the carpet, bedlinen and walls, mirrors were not cleaned, shower and hand basin had...

Stayed here for one night and even that was too much. We have stayed at many hotels scattered around Melbourne CBD and with that we have experienced some A+ stays and some down the other end of the spectrum. We arrived and due to there policy you pay for your room on check in - be nice if that was...

Arrived at the Best Western after traveling from the UK. The hotel is situated in a fantastic location in the city centre and fortunately for us very close to the bus stop so ideal to take our bags and be off / running with Australia. Sleep quality was fantastic - something imperative in a hotel. Subsequent two hotels have been...

Very Out dated. Rooms need a total makeover. Although it's outdated it is clean. If your a coffee drinker there is no morning cuppacino or latte's or hot chocolate. There's 2 out dated water urns one with instant coffee and other with hot water. Breakfast is just cereals & a machine with cold milks. Toast you can make and powder...

Nice decent sized mostly modern room. However, shower base and walls completely caked in mould & other grime. Not really what you expect when you pay money to stay somewhere. Staff not very friendly & seemed very uninterested in speaking to us or helping us find which tram we needed to get on, sending us the wrong way.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
