We found the Atlantis clean and comfortable, our room was at the lowest price range so there were no views at all only a wall, but the light came in so, not too claustrophobic. A good sized room. Staff friendly and helpful. Position good for Melbourne CBD and Spencer Street Railway Station. Our only gripe was the smell of the...

Comfortable with good location. Walking distance to Southern Cross train station makes it easier to those having early morning transfer. However, during my check in i was made wait a few hours. I reached Atlantis at 9 however i was not allowed to checked in which was 12 as informed by the receptionist. Hence waited at the lobby for an...

Stayed overnight. Impressed with locality to the Southern Cross train station, outlet shopping, supermarket, trams, airport SkyBus and CBD. Bed was very comfortable, staff were efficient and friendly, and the room was quite spacious, new and clean. I would definitely stay here again as the price was very affordable.

Nothing spectacular with this very average hotel. One has to pay for the internet which is a big minus in nowadays. Also no electric socket converter for guest's use as we came from Canada which has a different socket. This is the first hotel that I came across that does not have a socket converter.

The location and facilities were excellent. Only issue was not being able to access the USB to the TV. Not cool. Couldn't charge the phone or watch vids off my USB. Couldn't connect the laptop to the TV. Most comfy bed ever! Best bed in a hotel I have every slept in :) Great location

This hotel is fairly conveniently located for the city and is clean and tidy with basic but functional rooms. As a business traveller i felt it should have had free WiFi but it didn't. The hotel has no bar or restaurant and the breakfast is very basic with a few cereals and scrambled egg and beans as the only other...

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the room clean and bed comfortable. In easy walk from Southern Cross railway station the hotel is ideally placed to explore by train, other public transport, or by foot. The Italian restaurant next door offers a good eat-in option for only $3 extra, and the meals are delivered very promptly and...

Location is great, rooms are clean too. We had the superior twin room and it was very spacious and modern. No foxtel channels but had every digital channel. Bathroom is nice. Front desk is very helpful, put us in a city view room without any extra charge. Don't get the wifi, it drops out quite frequently. Just use the free...

I would definitely stay here again. I have stayed here a few times over the years. The rooms are only a few years old. When I first arrived my original room smelt of smokers but the management arranged another room straight away with no problems. The rooms are small but its pretty good value and I would definitely stay again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
