Park the car and forget about it. Fabulous location, right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. A plethora of eating choices on your doorstep. Whilst our room bathroom was a little dated it was pristine and had a great hot shower. Our room was also spacious enough to accommodate 2 single roll beds with enough room to walk between all....

The hotel is right in the centre of the city so it's very convenient. The rooms are tired and drab. The view is not great being surrounded by tall buildings, so one would have assumed the hotel would try and make up for it with good decor, but they haven't. Breakfast, which was steeply priced, was absolutely terrible, but he...

If you want access to all that Melbourne has to offer this is a great place to stay. The tram is right out on your doorstep. You are only a stroll away from everything- Southbank restaurants and Casino, Federation Square, Flinders railaway station, opposite this hotel is the start of China Town. Our family like to explore by walking, so...

Stayed here for one night over weekend to take in Monet Exhibition. Excellent location for CBD attractions . Lifts not working well. Room was fine but hallways worn and lots of cleaning equipment around unattended. Some staff poorly dressed. Staff though was professional and friendly .

We recently stayed here for 4 nights on the way back home from NZ with the aim of being central for easy shopping. The hotel is a great location for shopping and we had booked a larger room (which had a good layout with separate bedroom to living area and even a microwave if we had needed it). Downsides -...

We chose this hotel because of its location and it turned out that out choice was right. The hotel is located in the heart of the city. Just a stroll away from everything: Flinders station, Cathedral, Federation square, Southbank Yarra River, restaurants etc. China town is just few steps away. There are many shopping malls around such as: QV (which...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
