By tradition, the groom is not mean to see the bride, but we've lived together, I still have photos of my gown while in here, I wanted a suite but it wasn't available. The staff sent up extra flowers which I appreciated. You get great views and there is even a...

Unlike most Hyatts the Grand Hyatt Melbourne is both new and pretty hip. A grand atrium gives way to a warren of shops, restaurants, and intimate cocktail lounges. It's also directly adjacent to all of the culinary excellence available from the Flinders Lane area. Rooms are wonderfully appointed and the upgrade to concierge level pays off handsome rewards for night...

It never occurred to me that I could become so nervous about a wedding - my son's wedding - as I became, on this day. Of course it was so important to all of us - we wanted it to be the happiest of times - that for him and his beautiful new bride, things would go so well that...

This high tea experience is indulgent & served with a glass of sparking brut, beautiful finger sandwiches, pastries, scones, cream & jam served on traditional tiered platters, with array of tea blends & espresso coffee, buffet sweets & savoury delights. An elegant experience. It's a must do if in Melbourne! Done for my birthday!

The service culture of all staff that I came in contact was great - keep it up. The location of the hotel was good as it was walking distance to common amenities. The federation square is just down the road where tour buses start and this was very convenient . There were many restaurants in the area for food and furthermore...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
