We can't rave enough about this beautiful hotel and our experience here with the amazing staff. From the moment we stepped through the door to the sad moment we had to leave we were looked after impeccably. My second visit here. A boutique type hotel at the edge of the CBD. Rooms can be a bit varied. Most look out to the sides where there are multi storey car parks both sides, one of which is office only and quiet at night, the other is used by the public and can be busy until the small hours....

We stayed at the Hotel Lindrum for four nights. We attended the Australian Open and the hotel was a short 10 minute walk from the tennis center. Wonderful stay in central Melbourne, easy walking to shops and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The only negatives were a rattling window in high winds, and no complimentary coffee (but the tea was great!), otherwise highly recommend.

I have never booked a room at this landmark hotel. It's a wee bit too expensive for me. I visit because The Fuse Restaurant serves up superb meals at breakfast and dinner. Good wine list. I love the bar because the bartenders will mix my favourite martini to my specifications.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
