This is not a four star hotel. The rooms are basic, very small and the bathrooms are simply ridiculously small. Breakfast is just warmed up and the food is processed. However, the reception staff are very helpful and friendly.

We had two rooms booked mid week with fast and friendly checkin. The hotel also has on site car parking for a small fee. I normally stay up the street at the Crossley but thought I might give the Mecure a try. Glad I did. The beds were very comfy and we had a great night sleep. Our traveling companions...

A four night stay in a great spot, close to the CBD without feeling like you are in the middle of it. Good rooms, bed and general standard of the hotel. I felt it was a little expensive though for what it is. Tried the breakfast on the first morning and was very disappointed, buffet was cold and the food...

We had a huge room that was very comfortable. The room was cooled and the amenities were fine. The only negative is that the lighting in the bathroom was pretty bad. Seems to be common in Australia. The internet worked and the breakfast was very nice.

This time I was up on one of the upper floors, and had a one bedroom apartment. Check-in was pretty much instant (but I have gold status with Accor). The room was huge, and well maintained. I had a view out to the back of the hotel, which is really just views of the building, but was pleasant enough. Couple...

This hotel needs to overhaul so many things. Check in and check out took so long it was ridiculous - especially since we had already checked in on line. The room was small but adequate. The room and bathroom really needed a good clean. The mirrors were dirty, all the corners had a build up in them..it was yucky.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
