Great location and lovely heritage feel. Unfortunately beds weren't very comfortable and our package was not explained. Free breakfast was missed on our booking although very promptly fixed, however we were not advised that we had free wifi included and I did not find out until the last day. Ended up using most of our phone data by then. I...

We stayed in the junior suite. It was magnificent. What amazed was that the room had great views and overlooked a busy intersection but inside it was so quiet. The charm and history of the place made it a very relaxing place. One Eleven dining was special. Loved the place, the friendliness, the elegance. Would definitely return.

Stayed here purely as we got a great deal on our room and were amazed at 'stepping back in time'. It is an iconic Melbourne hotel and it may be a little dated in places but that's its charm. Check in was swift and lovely with the harpist playing in the foyer. My partner and I would not normally choose...

Arrived at the airport around 6.30 am 6th November, 2016, transferred to The Windsor for 2 nights, too early to check in but was able to drop off luggage. Spoke to the concierge and mentioned that we'd like to do the Neighbours tour, within a couple of minutes he had booked it for 11 am that day, very efficient and...

This is the perfect place to go for a special occasion - we celebrated a friend's 30th here and I'm going to go back for my dad's 60th. The location is stunning and the whole experience is very classy. A word of warning - you need to pace yourself because there is so much food! Don't go overboard on the...

I booked the Windsor about 4 months early based upon recommendations from friends. The night prior to flying to Melbourne, I received a cancellation notice from them although I received a confirmation email 2 days prior. This gave me high anxiety prior to leaving as this was the start of Australian Open Tennis week. I sent emails to them and...

The rooms were well decorated, spacious and quiet. The beds were very comfortable, the walk in wardrobe was a treat. The disappointment was the lack of complimentary biscuits to go with a cup of tea or coffee. The mini bar seemed a little pricey too. Great ocarina and excellent service from the concierge. Would stay again but would know to...

This was my third stay at the hotel in the past year. It was again very pleasant with that old world charm that I have learnt to love. The hotels location is ideal for getting around as it is central to tram lines and train station. The staff were as usual warm, friendly and most helpful, in all areas from...

Chose this hotel due to its proximity to theatre as seeing a show with friend. Very impressed, clean comfortable and large room, easy walk to theatre and shopping. Our luggage was originally delivered to the incorrect room but this was fixed very quickly as soon as we notified reception. My only beef would be that there was no milk provided...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
