Having a room overlooking laneway and on the first floor I experienced the noise of the rubbish trucks at 2am plus the smoke from smokers in the laneway during night. Could not open window for fresh air due to these factors. Excellent location for access to the office I needed to attend though.

Great access to restaurants, theaters, shops, entertainment, public transport and art galleries. Additional cost for off street parking and WiFi. Apartment overlooking the lane way was noisy overnight due to the live music at the club next door.

Very comfortable rooms, probably very tight for 4 people unless you are out most of the time was perfect size for us 2 girls (2 bedroom apartment) - would go back. No sun in room though but modern and everything we needed.

The initial credit card charge not refunded quickly after checking out.. The charge for WiFi was not expected as I could walk down to the nearest Café0Rrestaurant and get free access. Having travelled in Europe and England Hotel WiFi is access free?

Great location, staff were helpful. Only downer was the sheets did not fit the bed properly. They were too small so spent the night straightening sheets to the end and sides of the bed. Otherwise a pleasant stay

Thank you so much for the review and apologies for the incorrect linen on your bed, I certainly hope that this didn't disturb your night too much. We appreciate your feedback and will be sure to avoid this mix up for our future guests. Thank you

Excellent location. We stayed over cup week. Although busy, staff very cooperative and obliging. Room was a great size with two bedrooms a double and queen bed. With four adults could have done with another bathroom, but it didn't turn out to be an issue, as they left plenty of towels etc. The glass of champagne on cup day was...

What a terrible hotel. General cleanliness was poor. Badly scuffed walls, dirty Windows and smudged stainless in the lifts. Our dishes weren't done. Our tea and coffee wasn't replenished. The dirty towels were left in the bath room and clean towels left on the dining table??? The pillows were non existent and we were double charged for the pleasure of...

My husband & I were very happy with our overnight stay - celebrating our 60th birthdays. Our daughter chose Mantra for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend Mantra to others. We liked the location best. The staff at check in counter were efficient and pleasant.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
